I bought the car with no experience driving standard.
Sooo you're willing to lose money trading for a trans with less features, slower times and worse reputation, why? Don't tell me someone made fun of you for driving an auto

I have to agree with Eco here... Why risk losing money on a trade in for a trans that you have little experience operating? You might not like the manual once you learn to drive it for a DD. (This is why I went with an auto)

The OP is "shiftless" now but stands to be poorer if he opts to "row" another Mustang. I fear that what Thomas Tusser said almost 500 years ago might apply, "A Fool and his Money are soon Parted". That trade might be an expensive "lesson" though. Just saying...

Keep the auto. Many people have "Buyer's Remorse" after buying high ticket items. It'll pass.

I had no idea the manual had less features, was slower, and had a bad reputation? I thought the stick shift made the v6 quicker and thought it would be more fun.. If, in fact the stick shift is slower, I would keep the auto....

Driving he Stick is more 'fun' (Purely subjective) but only the best drivers can equal the times of the AUTO. From what I have read the auto is a beast and can take more abuse than the stick. I'll be daily driving my ECO and modding it, Had I known what I know now I probably would have gone auto. Keep it, and put a tune on it, you will have more fun and have more money in your pocket in the long run.

It's been known to be slower the majority of the time. That is driver dependent but you would be hardpressed to out shift the 6R80. It might be more fun to you but that is a decision only you can make.

It's too bad you never got a manual in the first place. I'd stick with the automatic if I were you for now.

considering GT PP Manual
Seeing that you live in NoVa and have little to no experience with manual, i'd say keep driving it for a while, get a manual beater like a 15-20 year old civic or a miata (those things are fun) for good 2-3 months, once you improve, dump the civic, your current stang and get the manual, perhaps look for used ones too. My first car was a manual (which was a 1990 Corolla, that was in 2007), once I got my first new car that was manual, I do not want to imagine learning on a new car, I have burned the clutch a few times on my first car and it is definitely cringing me to do this on a new car. Once you ready to sell the v6 auto, appraise it at Carmax first, you can still keep the car for a few days as the appraise can stay for 5-7 days if you wanna sell the car little later.

As a NoVa driver, being a novice manual driver can be frustrating experience to begin with, luckily i was in high school when i was learning and had a very short commute.

Oh ok well as noted it would be difficult to manually outshift the auto and get better times. The manual is also known to not be as durable as the auto especially if you plan on upping the power. And the manual can't remote start which is standard for the auto. I guess the only other feature would be that it shifts on its own lol

If you aren't a manual type of person to begin with, it be a huge mistake to trade in just for that reason. MTs has to many variables to break or be problematic if you mess up in your shifting. Stick with what you have cause if you happen to mess up your MT cause of a miss shift, you're gonna want that automatic back.

It's just not worth the trouble.

Calling out OKC #1 spot after axle back install.
Why would you downgrade like that?

I am sure there is someone out there who regrets picking up an MT-82 and will be willing to swap their garbage for your 6R80.
