I have a s550 gt and was wondering if anyone had any info on the power gains of the corsa extreme catback, I have it installed and was considering getting the JLT CAI with the SCT X4 custom tune that claims to have gains of up to 40 RWHP
Thanks

No. Catback won't get you much, maybe 3 HP. Get a an intake and good tune from a vendor.

Ah ok, much appreciated, being that I don't have close access to a dyno what tune would you recommend that comes on a programmer?

A good hp power gain in my opinion would be some new cams and long tube headers .

Comp cams has cams, but that's my deal too, I was thinking of just adding some simple bolt ons for now

I'd like to do headers because they sound nasty with the corsa but that's still pretty pricy and I'd still have to get a tune so I was thinking of a tuner and CAI before I do anything like that

CAI and tune seems to be the best bang for the buck right now.

31 whp on a JLT intake and Bama tune for only $745! Thats what it says on Americanmuscle.com. Its pretty crazy if you ask me for only $745. This is even cheaper per HP than getting longtube headers and full exhaust.

The best value in HP increase comes with supercharging. Everything else is really a waste of money and time if you're looking to make a meaningful increase in hp. If you're doing track days that would be the only reason I wouldn't SC as you one don't need the added power and two it just ends up running too hot.

The best value in HP increase is nitrous, not counting bottle fills.

The best thing you can do is forced induction.

Be it supercharging or turbocharging, nothing will provide gains like a blower or turbos.

Nitrous is fun and I've owned several nitrous cars, but the bottles get expensive to fill....and become more hassle than they are worth, IMO. I can't tell you how many times I found a friendly roll race, but my bottle wasn't hooked up or empty from Saturday night, so I got dragged on motor, lol.

I'd definitely forego the rear exhaust, unless you simply want more sound.

If money is tight, my vote goes to a CAI + Tune.
