A lot of talk here about how the Z/28.R was allowed to lose a bunch of weight compared to the class, so I was curious and just did some quick Googling about the curb weight of the "consumer" versions of the cars. The base weight of each is from Car and Driver for all cars to try and keep it as consistant as possible.

Z/28 3862 lbs vs Z/28.R 3575 lbs. Difference = 287 lbs
Boss 302 3666 lbs vs Boss 302R 3335 lbs Difference = 331 lbs
Nissan NISMO 370Z 3340 lbs vs Nissan 370Z R 2850 lbs Difference = 490 lbs
Porsche 991 Carrera GTS 3430 lbs vs Carrera GTS R 3075 lbs Difference = 355 lbs

I hardly think the race weight of the Z/28.R is "unfair."

All that research...

The z28r had a 3400lbs Race Weight the entire 2014 season.

In the off-season, the weight was increase to 3500lbs.

It wasn't until Sebring (two races ago) that the weight was increase to 3575.

It's not really unfair I guess, the car sucks, it needed help... Fat kids can play too in CTSC.

Actually, now that your on the subject. The z28 had both a HUGE HP advantage AND weight allowance. It is the ONLY vehicle built and developed by a 3rd Party. Everyone else has Factory Support.

I agree the 2014 season the 3,400 lbs was too much of a diet. 3,500 lbs means that is a 362 lb weight loss. ~31 lbs more than the Boss. Still less than the Nissan. So the "fat kid" at no point this season raced with the biggest weight difference from its consumer version, yet it was still doing well. Heck even at 3575 race weight it is doing OK and at that race weight it is the closest in weight to its "consumer version." Yes it's a fat car but its weight loss is comparable to the field this year. Heck the last couple of races it's been racing closer to its consumer version (in terms of weight) than any other car in its field.

P.S. Sebring was the second race this season (THREE races ago).

The z28 had so many advantages in the last two years, I find it hard to watch them.

Facts are facts, weight allowance and output were huge compared to the rest of the class. For some reason, the z28 still has an issue breaking away. The Boss 302 at Laguna Seca (that was the first race at 60mm and 3575) ran the z28 down.

I believe the Boss has no more TB restrictions, so that would not surprise me.

You're right, facts are facts the weight allowance and insufficient restrictor last year WAS huge. However, the facts are that THIS season the Z/28.R has not enjoyed as much of a weight loss as all of the other cars in the field, except for the first race at Daytona. Yet with all of this fat kid weight and large restrictor it's still competing.

I already told you in Sep of the 14 season they bumped the z28 to 3550 lbs and a 68mm restrictor.

The Boss is actually at 3290, but with there allowed replacement parts if used they would be bumped to 3335lbs.

No, I checked the bulletins. Unless you have the link, there was no bulletin issues for that change. The restriction changes are in there but no weight changes.

I need the links to the bulletins because I can't find them.

I found it... Now that the 400lbs weight allowance was gradually brought back up, it still commanded a 60-100RWHP advantage, 60-100 torque advantage, displacement advantage with massive changes from the OEM model and pure 3rd Party development. Let's not forget, 3575lbs is laughable in this class.

Awwwww, the z28 was made to be 200lbs heavier than the Boss 302... Boo hoo, let's cry and pray for rain...

Laguna Seca (2 races ago) was the absolute closest the z28 has been to balance since it was sh!t into Daytona.

The boss as of the bulletin I linked no longer showed a 57mm restrictor. So the Boss has been running on full power. And on your power difference, it may be 60hp, but no way 100.

60hp, 80tq... Who's counting and who cares...

The z28 doesn't belong in CTSC, never did. Chevy couldn't compete in the class unless MAJOR rules were broken.

Stop trying to make the z28 a victim. Chevy couldn't beat the Boss, and the f@cking 1LE is a REAL WORLD JOKE!!!

It's completely and totally pathetic and so is any attempts to justify its advantages as "Fair" or "Equal". Key word is "Advantage" and that is exactly what the Camaro needs to be competitive, rule breaking advantages.

Such a victim, a victim of over regulation that just so happens to be purely Chevy's fault... for not trying like everyone else. The real victim is the racing fans who were just robbed of Factory Racing. Just because they Frankensteined together a Micky Mouse piece of sh!t...
