91or 94 octane

what do you guys thing is better to run in a 2015 gt n/a shell 91 or 94 and what should I tune the car for ?

I'm guessing you are talking about Petro-Can 94 which is super expensive so unless you want to spend a small fortune on gas save yourself some cash and go with 91 :cheers:

Also, their 94 is made from 91 mixed with octane booster at the pump, so you might want to compare with DIY solutions, might end up cheaper.

Is Petro Canada's 94 Ultra really just 91 with octane booster? I've heard octane booster doesn't play well with the Coyote engine/tune. If that's a fact, 91 is best, unless you have Chevron or Husky/Mowhawk 94 in your area.

I'll find you the source when I get home, but yes it is octane booster. There are much less refineries/qualities/grades in Canada compared to the US and most areas only have 1 refinery that serve all brands of gas stations.

Can't help with the octane booster / coyote issue as I have no idea.

Tactrol does not in any way contain MTBE. In fact, Tactrol is an engine deposit control additive designed to clean your fuel system. It is, in basic terms, a detergent. MTBE is also an additive, however it is added to commercial fuels to boost octane ratings by approximately 5%. Tactrol's function is not to boost octane levels. Please note that Petro-Canada fuels do not contain Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether, with the exception of SuperClean 94 in the greater Vancouver area. Across the rest of Canada, the most common octane booster is MMT, a manganese compound which is added in trace amounts. SuperClean 94 in Montreal does contain between 5 - 10% ethyl alcohol, and the pumps are specifically identified to show that the fuel contains alcohol. This, however, is in no way to be confused with MTBE. I hope this helps. If you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Yes all 2015 run perfectly fine on 87 and unless you are looking for max power, there is no point to put anything else. OP was getting a tune so that's where the discussion comes from ;)

She'll 91 is the only one with no ethanol added it's the only fuel I use in all my rides and all my small engine stuff

Esso 93 is only available in the GTA and from what I've read (no official source unfortunately) is Esso 91 (which doesn't contain ethanol) mixed with ethanol (which has a higher octane rating) which makes Esso 93 (contains ethanol).

True that it will run fine on 87 but false that it's just 3-4hp.
I don't recall the exact number but it's easy to find. It's a decrease of over 10% hp.

I'm running a 93 octane race tune so my options are limited. I ran a 94 octane tune but I wasn't happy with the results. Go beyond the basics and it's needs data logging which I plan to do.

True for the Ecoboost (11-13% HP) but OP has a GT, which Ford admited only looses 1-2% HP on 87 since it's a NA car.

The best refined gas in Canada. No additives at the pump and only available in B.C. though.

I haven't seen Petro 94 or Mohawk/Husky 94 around B.C. in some time. It might be out there, but the stations that used to have them no longer do.
