You don't have to update the firmware if you bought it from Lethal Performance. They update the firmware prior to downloading the Lund tune to the nGauge.
Yes and no. As I mentioned before, when I received my nGauge from Lethal, I was on firmware FW096. The firmware that Lund II recommended I install was FW115. Now the Lund Racing Website has a newer update, FW120. Just like most other hardware/software, I imagine this thing will continue to evolve and gain capability through its firmware updates... So I would periodically check to make sure that you are not missing some cool new feature.

For just installing whatever custom tune you have through Lund, however, the way Lethal ships it is up to date enough.

You touch one of the squares and a parameter shows up, you scroll through the parameters till you find one you want. You touch the check mark and it occupies the space you choose. You can do this for each of the four or 6 square readouts.

The trick is figuring out what they mean. They aren't labeled the way you would usually refer to them.

Thanks i did try that and on all 4 boxes its giving me a "ERR" i tried doing it again and selecting the one i want and touched the check mark and still gives me the "ERR"

I haven't put FW120 on my device yet, but since you are having an issue I will see if mine duplicates that error under FW120. Will report back in an hour or so.

Rio16,

I have installed FW120 and cannot duplicate your issue. After the device updated, I fired up the car and my four gauges worked as they always have. The only time I get an ERR message is when run power is on, but the engine is off. Make sure your OBDII cable is plugged in securely.

On a side note, updating my nGauge in the car with my Surface Pro was fast. Really impressed with this thing.

Then after the holiday weekend, contact someone at Lethal or Lund Racing. Someone there should be able to sort things out for you.

The USB cable that I used was off of one of the many different devices I have around the house (I think it was for an external hard drive or PS3 controller cable). Those things accumulate in my house like weeds grow outside. I'm pretty sure you can find one somewhere if you ever want to try loading your tunes and FW updates while in your car.

Make sure after you get to the logging screen you tap it again to start the logging. You'll see the filename.csv listed and you'll know you're good.

I need a revision I think... I am getting some slightly pinging on very hot days in the lower rpm band.

So I'm gonna get a tune in the next couple weeks...Would you guys say this is the best tuner on the market? I want to get it right the first time and avoid as many issues as possible.

The nGauge is a pretty bad ass setup. It's definitely got it's advantages over the X4. The biggest thing is the advanced datalogging and ability to monitor your parameters like an Aeroforce gauge. A tuner/gauge all built into one is a win/win.

As far as the tune goes Lund Racing is definitely the way to go. Like you said you want to get it right the first time so don't waste your time and money messing around with other claims or promises. Deal with the best from the beginning and you won't be fixing it down the line.

Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll be glad to assist you.

Thanks, Jared
