Went to the presentation night at Thompson Ford tonight.
It was very crowded about 160 people. They had a yellow GT auto on display.
They started the engine but as it was inside only ran it for a short time.
They also allowed us to sit in it.

This is the same car that they had at Peter Warren Ford at Warrick Farm last night, (Thursday Night).
They started it several times.
They also had 2 Mustangs on display from the NSW Mustang Club.
It was a good night with 2 of the sales guys walking around the car and pointing out the various features/specifications.
Every one had the opportunity to sit in the car and ask 2 reps from Ford Australia, questions re the Australian spec car.
The display car is a USA LHD GT with the Performance Pack.
The Australian GT will have different specs to this car, starting with different wheels.
It was a great night with Drinks and Finger Food supplied.

Thanks for posting pics.I was also there,it was interesting to hear they have 68 orders. As we have heard before the car is much better in the flesh.I loved it.You might have noticed my 67 coupe Colorado Red with black Shelby stripes out front.

The yellow car is a standard GT without the performance package. It didn't have the strut tower brace or any of the other gear that the PP has.

Thanks for posting the photos.

Sinclair Ford is on the 6th July.

I know it was a US spec but any comments on panel fit and general finish?

As far as I could tell it looked pretty good. It was lower than I expected - that is the overall height of the car.

The interior looked nice. I still think that the cup holders will be unusable especially in a manual.
The panels all fitted together ok - no obvious gaps etc.

The exhaust may have been a bit quiet but you knew it was a V8.
The paint work was very good - while Yellow would not be my favorite colour - it stood out.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm really keen to see it in the metal and get some idea of the size relative to my R-Spec.

I had a good look at the bonnet vents on the mustang last night - I cant see any reason why they wouldn't be legal.
They are pretty much flat inline with the bonnet and there is plenty of space under them.

Anyone know why people would say they wont be on the EU or AU models?
