Got a chance to talk to a friend at Hallett. Apparently he was able to get them to put all three cars on lifts and took a look under them. He couldn't tell me much besides it's incredible what has gone into it. Also, the carbon fiber wheels on the R are about $3,000 a piece .............

Thanks for the wheel pricing. We all knew they would not be cheap given the material choice. One forum member was guessing $600 a wheel :D. That wasn't me by the way.

Haha $600 would be what I'm guessing the normal 350 wheels are if that!! They're probably closer to $1000 I'm guessing.

my 2011 svtpp Gt500 wheels are about $1700/each list price, so these wheels are more expensive

it will be a sad day at the tire shop when they have to eat the cost of a wheel they damaged by poor installation

Ford list price will be more I bet. The GT PP wheels are about $1300 a piece for Ford list price.

I hope no one would pay list anyways. $1300 for a cast aluminum wheel is ridiculous. $3000 sounds pretty accurate though.

Would be nice to get some good under carriage shots. There is one set that were taken but not all that close up.

That is just list price for a single replacement. The 2011/2012 brembo package wheels were $900 EACH form ford, yet you could buy a whole set from ford racing for nearly the same price

The cast GT 350 wheels are likely just a few hundred bucks each if you were to buy them in the aftermarket

Correct, I agree on the list price and paying that.

It won't be an issue. Shops will just refuse to change tires on them... I could not imagine driving on the street with CF wheels...

Im getting an R and I have been thinking of maybe getting a separate set of wheels and tires for driving around the street. I can just get a nice set of street tires and a set of wheels that look close to the originals. would I be able to do this

R wheels are going to be a nightmare for insurance companies. Think about it, those shady guys driving around looking to jack some wheels, or the entire car, are going to be drooling over an R....
Every time I hear someone say "those CF wheels are gonna be stole" or something similar, it makes me wonder if I'm just naive or what, cause how in the heck can they steal at car shows, at the race track, in your locked garage, etc.

My R will be garaged, protected by the 2nd amendment when garaged, and only out to the track, to shows and the occasional jaunt to run it with my friends' 350's.

I guess, if you plan to use an R as a daily driver, that would be more of a possibility.

yep mine will be garaged to and used for the same purpose. no one will have a chance to steal it. If they go that far to get it than so be it.
