Hello, I'm new here, but have been lurking for a while now gathering information about the upcoming GT350. Haven't been able to find any information about the weight of the car. I believe the 15 GT is around 3700 lbs, so my guess is the GT350 will be slightly lighter?

Ford stated the R is 137lbs lighter than the GT350 so....

3700
3563

Just a realistic guess.

Hoping for

3627
3490

or less....

Why didn't Ford release the weight of the GT350 when they released the hp and torque ratings?

Any way my guess is 3,650 for the GT and 3,513 for the R.

Going to gain weight over the gt. just like the gt I'm going for 85ish pounds heavier. otherwise why not just say an approximate weight like with hp & tq. They know it's not good. Just like with the gt. Guess that puts the base gt350 around 3800lbs. Add leather and more bells and whistles and you will be over that.

That would be horrible. The base GT is already embarrassingly heavy.

Hope you are way off on your guess. 3700 lbs or less I can accept, but anything over that will make it too heavy to use as a track car. I'm already starting to think of ways to reduce weight from the car...

I'm hoping the base GT350 is around 3700lbs. Although if it's more, I wouldn't say it's too heavy to track. The Z28 is what, 3900lbs? Also I believe GT-Rs are around 3900lbs too and plenty of people track them.

Also, if and when I get a GT350, one of the first things I'm doing is changing the stock wheels. I believe they weigh around 30lbs or so each which is ridiculous for a 19" wheel. Not to mention I don't think they look all that great either. There are plenty of aftermarket 19" wheels that weigh around 20-25lbs so that should be a decent weight saving right there.
