Not sure how or why I lost power. , but I recently replaced the stock headers with BBK long tubes, no cats, 3" exhaust, had a reputable shop tune it and the car definitely lost power. With just a JLT CAI, Gibson catback and sct strategy tune I went 12.8 @ 113mph. Add the long tubes and full 3" exhaust and now I'm doing 13s @111mph(same temp outside). Plus the car just doesn't have the punch it used to. I was under the assumption this would gain power...not sure what to do.

What shop did your tune? Do you have any audible exhaust leaks? Are the front 02's seated properly? What tuning device/software are you using? Did you baseline before the headers and then dyno again after? Are you utilizing similar fuel to the first drag strip runs?

No issues with any leaks, using SCT X4. Didn't baseline before the headers because I was just using the preloaded tunes. I can physically feel the car has less power. And both on 93 octane. Competition Auto in NC did it. My car was having issues with the speed limiter so they couldn't get solid 5th gear pulls today. It would only pull to about 6200 rpm but he said he was able to tune the car no problem. Only made 402hp/385tq. I was expecting way more hp. The car isn't pulling to its potential. It has to be capable of more..

Why didn't they just remove the speed limiter? I agree with Rio, get another tune. Check out Lund or Livernois, people swear by their tunes (myself included). If it doesn't run right after one of those tunes, you can always datalog and have them analyze what your car is doing.

With a JLT intake and LTH, sans cats, my car scared me while merging onto the interstate on the first pull. I was used to its normal power and where that power would come on and then die; was completely unprepared for when it continued to pull hard all the way up to 7K RPMs. My coworker has a stock S197 that ran even with me (he was a nose ahead) before my mods and tune, and now I don't even have to try to beat him.

With a similar setup I'm 430/400 with a Lund tune. I'd personally lose some faith in my tuner if they couldn't overcome issues with the speed limiter...that is their job after all.

Mine lost power with the long tubes and new tune ( canned tune ) I'm going over to see Sam at Costal Dyno and have him dyno tune it ... Mine went from 11.90s to 12.20s and lost a bunch of MPH ...It sucks big time ..
