The problem for me is that the R, with all of Fords packaging limits, is squarely in C7 pricing - so if it comes above 60k then Ford doesn't make sense. The C7 can be had any way you pick - track car, convertible, auto, stick plus things Ford doesn't even offer like HUD and the PDR.

The GT350 would work, but again all those artificial limits and all this struggling with dealers over allocations and ADM makes me sick. Ford + its dealers are pushing me to the dark side.:mad:
I hear you about the price getting into C7 area, but personally I think the GT350 looks better...there is something about the Vette that looks to "Transformer" to me....I know the car performs...its just me....

Yeah two different cars and end users IMO. Plus that LSx will never ever sound and rev like the Voodoo

Here's something to ponder... Value of said C7 vs value of said GT350R in 5 years. The C7 will succumb to residual... The R will hold its value and eventually appreciate if the quantity is kept low.

Let's look at the original GT350... Produced between 1965-1970. How many years did they produce the GT350R?... 1965-66, if I remember correctly. I would expect Ford to follow suit, as they did with the B302 in 2012-13, and just look at their residuals vs C6's or C7's.

Just cause you can get a cheaper performance car with questionably more techno gizmos doesn't mean you made the right choice in value. Besides, the technology in the chassis and engine is unrivaled in any corvette produced to date. And I bet you $10 to a dollar that the GT350/350R will toast a C7 on any track with curves in it.

It will be produced more than 2 years and will likely still lose around the track to the c7( although it will be very close I'm guessing), the Vette is just too light and also has a fantastic chassis. but I do agree it should still hold its value better. I don't plan on selling mine for a few decades that is for sure

I really like the Ferrari inspired looks of the C7, but the LT1 is garbage. I'm afraid to buy one for that reason and I'm worried that my winter driving experience will be so bad I will have to get a winter beater.

I think it will be hard for most people to justify paying more than a few thousand ADM for the GT350 when the 'vette is so much lighter, though.

It should be interesting to see what happens, but I would assume the cars with bigger ADM will mostly sit on lots.

Everyone knows that a race-prepared C7 will out perform a race-prepared GT350, as race-prepared C7's utilize the Z06 as the benchmark. They're two different classes. However, the prior poster said "a C7"... He did not specify a C7 Z06.

In order to get the level of performance out of a GM product you will have to escalate to a Z06 as the GT350 has been rumored to have tracked the Gring more quickly than the Z/28.

I bought my 2012 from them, called and left a voicemail with the sales manager who I delt with and he never called back. With all the la celebrities and their media presence I assumed all were gone or huge adm, I could be wrong.

Anyone in the Missouri area? Found another dealer there. Also might be willing to ship the cars
I'm in MO

Fair as set by the manufacturer.
Definitely have to agree with this - the mfgr sets MSRP. It can't be unfair! If they set it "too low", well, they set it at an amount completely of their own choosing...
