My dealer is telling me that my 2016 order has been placed. Should hear back tomorrow with order number. The only fly in the ointment is that to try to get it faster they may have ordered it as inventory since it takes priority over the retail orders?? If that is the case then they said that they may not be able to give me an order number. If I can't track online it is going to kill me. If it has been ordered I can't figure out what the delay is in getting me a number. Supposedly it was entered with a priority code of 11. Has anyone had theirs ordered as dealer inventory? I am afraid that someone will come in and buy out from under me if it is dealer inventory even though they said they could tag the order as sold to me.....I'm scared.

Mine is ordered as inventory also. Priority 20. My rep said inventory orders are usually released first when a new model year starts production. I thought 20 is the highest inventory priority and 11 is the highest for customer orders.

Same Here. After noticing a priority of 80 on my DORA I went in to bitch. He explained the whole process of new year models dealer inventory gets built first, so I get it sooner. The only advantage of a retail order (10 - 19) is your price is locked in. He bumped me to priority 20(dealer inventory) with another order of priority 99 (order on file with X-plan price locked) in case Ford bumps up Dealer Inventory prices, he'll just re-assign the 99 to the car.
Also note, for those ordering convertibles, they do a batch of fastbacks first, so they will be released later.
This is how I understand it and I am no way an expert on this!

Pretty sure once it has a VIN, you'll be able to track it in COTUS regardless how it was ordered. And the VIN will be assigned long before the car is delivered to the dealer so you can remind them (daily, if necessary) that it's your car.

For what it's worth I just got a call from my Galpin Ford Dealer.

He left me a message a few moments ago that he just talked to his inventory man who told him we can order my 2016 Mustang today!!!

Got my DORA today. Order date 6/4. When I decided I was buying a 2010, it was many months until I could even order one, so 3 months shouldn't be too bad...I hope.

Fully loaded except Recaro seats I am paying $41,310. (GT Premimum, PP, 401a, Bliss, reverse park assist, adaptave cruise control, floor mats)

Just placed my own today... bit the bullet, but a little unhappy about the confusion about the HD radio availability on the ecoboost premium.

Order sheet says 201A only, but all the material on the ford site (including the current 2015 build tool) says HD radio is standard on this trim line... uggh.

Since I couldnt confirm, I placed an order with the 201A.

What I got:
Ecoboost Premium
201A
Deep Impact Blue
Premier Trim with Color Accent Group, Redline

I wanted the wheel and stripe group for the 19", but for whatever reason ford says NO with the premier trim... oh well, stock rims look good anyway.

Still really miffed about having to get BLIS with the 201A though to guarantee HD radio...

According to my DORA, the PP went up $195. Base and other prices as far as I can tell are the same.
