When ordering yesterday my dealer asked if I wanted an R. I didn't, which was a good thing according to him because he said that R allocations will be by lottery pick. He said it didn't matter how many Fords a dealership sold each month, year, etc. He said that R allocations aren't known yet...so who knows who to believe!!!
I've never heard that. When they got their 2016 allocations, dealers were told whether or not they would be getting an R.

Hello All. I was just able to secure my order@MSRP, to be shipped to my home state of CA, but it was not without help. I would like to send a big thanks to these 2 members and pass on some potential allocations

IA350-He had found 2 dealers at MSRP in Iowa, passed on the 2nd dealer's info to me. They are claiming they are waiting for a potential buyer to decide on the car (that was a week ago), but after talking to them earlier this week I don't think they wanted to sell me the car in CA. So as a long shot, if you are in Iowa or a closer state, I can give you the info.

jlwdvm-he too found 2 dealers selling @MSRP. He picked his up, I placed my order today. The dealer I placed the order with today said they have a 2nd allocation and will sell at MSRP. They are in IL and have no issues shipping out of state.

Also, if you are in CA and don't mind some ADM, I found one dealer only asking 5k over (non-R). But im guessing if you are closer to them and can go in person to haggle, you might score a better deal.

PLEASE PM IF YOU WOULD LIKE THE DEALER INFO FOR ANY OF THE ABOVE.

Just found out from a higher up Ford employee that there will be only 180 350R's made for 2016 and at the most 500 for 2017.
So for the guys who got their R,well done.

That Ford employee is telling you BS

Well ok,how many do you think they will build smart ass?
This man has worked for Ford a long time and he talked to the sales people in Michigan and they told him 180 R models for 2016,he knows a lot about what Ford does.

The allocations are known. The lottery was on April 28th and then everyone was notified through their regional sales team.

I was told by my dealer, they were getting 15 350's and only one R.
Dealer in houston claiming to be getting 17 350s and 7Rs and said "Was told we are getting 1st GT350 in the country."

Same guy said he doesn't know what the premium will be yet but one of his salesman said they usually do 10-20k.

Lot of allocations and since its houston I'm sure he will have several buyers, won't be me though. :-D

I don't trust a word he says/types.
Both those allocations numbers seem far to high. Also the 1st GT350 is not going to Texas.

Sadly accurate.

500/year has been the number leaked many times for the R, I wonder if the 2016MY will actually be cut short (since they are already a bit behind) and thus the total number of R's will be less for the first year. That or the production pipeline for all teh fancy R tidbits is supplier constrained at the moment

500 for 2017 is what my guy was told and the above mentioned supplier issues for the wheels and R tidbits.

I, too, have been in the higher-up loop and in fact have heard from a very reliable source that the R model will follow the same volume plan as the 2012/13 LS302s.

As for the allocation system, either some very high profile Ford dealerships are lying about not knowing their allocation status or they are hoarding cars for their own privy. I have asked around the southeastern region and a few big dealers are mum.

I do know for a fact that all 2015's have been said for... All of them.

Sadly accurate.

Wheel supply problem with the R?

Thanks to this info from krt22 and the help he received from jlwdvm I was able to secure the second allocation at MSRP. The dealer is squared away and only located about 2 hours from my home. Couldn't have worked out any better. Thanks to all of you guys, placing the order tomorrow!

Lucky, I asked him for that lead as well. Guess I'm back on the hunt. Every dealer around me is either clueless, sold out, or charging at least $5k over. I've contacted 63 dealerships so far.
