Just put in my order today. 2015 Magnetic Mustang GT Premium with performance package and rear park assist. Got it for $36,000 before incentives. With the standard $500 Ford cash back + the $500 student incentive I will be paying $35,373 with all the fees included. MSRP is $39,915 with the invoice on the paperwork he gave me showing $37,429. I do think that invoice price is a bit higher than it actually is however. He said I'm for sure locked in with the incentives I currently have and that there's a good possibility there might be some additional savings while I wait on my order. Overall I think I got a pretty good deal and can't wait for delivery! How'd I do?

Does that $35,373 include tax? No way; that would be insane.

I'm trying to decide - jeeze I'm horny for this car! LOL!
I found a (very) base GT, stick with a MSRP of $33,280 and it can be had for $32,163.00 OTD.. Or I can order a 2016 & wait... I see folks here getting better rides (leather, etc) for $32K-$33K.. This is tough....

i don't see the 32-33k otd being realistic for a premium. Unless you have no Sales tax such as Oregon but even then.

Well...there is no accounting for poor, lazy and incompetent or perhaps untruthful, car salesmen. I was quoted a $40K price OUT-THE-DOOR for the car I ordered on Saturday. Today, (the stealership was closed yesterday for Memorial Day...I suppose one of the few dealerships that elected to close for the holiday), the Finance Manager emailed me the build sheet and the final Out-The-Door price was (is) $41,226.17, not including any applicable rebates I qualify for at time of the car's delivery (500 Ford Cash and 750 Military). Needless to say, I was agitated; I called and asked to speak to my salesman...HE WAS GONE FOR THE DAY! So, I spoke with the Finance Manager; he told me the "original agreement" was to sell me the car at invoice, plus all applicable taxes and fees, minus applicable rebates at the time of the car's delivery. When I "pressed" him and asked why the salesman, who drew up the original numbers and sales agreement (which was approved by another finance manager at the dealership on Saturday) quoted me an Out-The-Door price of $40K, he replied, "well, he used the incorrect Georgia Sales tax percentage and he didn't include the advertisement and fuel fees. Now, I was really agitated. So now, I don't know whether to chalk this up to an incompetent and lazy salesman or if the stealership is trying to "pull a fast one" on me. The, as it stands now, Out-The-Door price with all of my rebates (presuming, of course, they are still available at the car's delivery) is: $39,976.17...which, I don't think is too bad of a deal. I informed the finance manager, who sent me the email and whom I subsequently called, I wouldn't pay for the advertisement and fuel fees either...it remains to be seen how this will turn out. Hopefully at worst, maybe I can "split" the $580.00 advertising fee and come out with an OTD price of $39,686.17. I am interested in hearing opinions; should I just walk away and renegotiate with another stealership for the same or better price or should I just chalk this incident up to an incompetent/lazy salesman?

39976 is under 40k out the door - I'd be stoked. They can protect your rebates and sweeten the deal with more upon delivery with new ones.

Per the prior analysis, it is a very good deal. Don't piss the dealer off too much. :D

Mikey,

Thanks for the reply; the 40K OTD quoted on Saturday was before the rebates (500 Ford Cash and 750 Military Cash) figured into the total...that is why I am agitated. $39,976 is under $40K out the door and it is a good price for the car (15 GT Premium, Ruby Red, 6 Speed Automatic, 3.55 gears, enhanced security package, spare tire kit, rear spoiler delete and 19 inch dark stainless aluminum wheels. MSRP was $40,695 and Invoice was $38,138.64). It just really agitates and annoys me that the dealership won't honor their initial quote...the salesman figured the price incorrectly and his mistake wasn't caught and corrected by the finance manager who approved the deal, so it seems to me the dealership should honor the initially quoted 40K price out the door and "eat" the $1226.17, due to their error. But, they aren't doing that. The finance manager will let me know tomorrow morning if the advertising and fuel fees will be removed; the fees amount to $638.64 and would make up the difference in the incorrectly computed sales tax fees in the initial 40K quote. I will "press" the finance manager to "lock in" and "protect" my rebates and subtract the advertising and fuel fees...then I will be satisfied and order the car. Time will tell and we shall see if the dealership will work with me.

GT Pony,

Good evening! And yes, you are correct in your analysis, it is a good deal. My irritation emanates from the incompetency and/or laziness of the salesman. The finance manager with whom I emailed and spoke today was well-informed, fair, to-the-point and punctual in sending me the build sheet with the price. My only "hold out" is to have him "lock-in and protect" the current rebates from Ford ($500 Mustang Cash and $750 Military Rebate) and work with me on advertising and fuel fees. I am confident the rebates may be guaranteed by the dealership, but only time will tell if the dealership will bend on removing the fees. I will have my answer tomorrow.
