My transmission broke!

So pretty sure a syncro decided to dislodge itself in my transmission today. I already dropped it off at the dealer... I drove there parked it in there service department. It still operates normally but just sounds like a screw ticking on a fan blade or your computer or something. so the faster I go the louder and faster the noise gets clutch in or out still makes it. I'm worried about my warranty though. I have heard if you use your 0-60 or line lock it voids it... Well I messed around with line lock to see how it works but never really ended up using it and have done maybe 2 or 3 0-60's on the on-ramp to the freeway but not like I'm going to the track everyday. Its actually never been to the strip! what do you guys think am I screwed? so I took a video of it before i dropped it off. I just went through 1st gear held the clutch in and coasted and went back into first and then some other gears just so you can hear what its doing. I'm worried i'm going to have to fork over some cash... I've never had to have warranty work on any of vehicles ever (guess i've been luck so far) and I have just heard a bunch of horror stories.

Well that's the thing all they would have to do is plug into the car and know that i did a 0-60 its all logged on the ECU so there isn't really a way to get around that. This is my wife's car its been babied since day 1... I mean even when i bought it the dealer showed me the track apps and went into them to kinda show me about them. Just dont understand how after 6000 miles of easy mostly highway driving all the sudden a Manual transmission stops working.... just nuts to me. I guess we'll see what they say. Don't know how strict ford is about playing with those apps are.

Sounds like a tractor. I wouldn't worry about voiding the warranty with what you did. Now if you had a tuner and what not then sure. This is exactly why I'm afraid of modding my car. Anything can happen at any time.

that makes me feel a little better.... I'm SO glad I haven't tuned the car! just put the exhaust on so it didn't sound like a prius. Been fighting the urge to mod for this exact reason. I tought the whole M/T issues was blown way out of proportion and was just a few people that broke theirs because they race them at the drag strip. Didn't know they could crap out just driving to movie theater with my wife! Guess this car will remain stock for 3 years....

I dont see anything that would be a warranty issue. Using the track apps does not void your warranty. Running it on a strip/track does, but not a 0-60 run or line lock.

I tought the whole M/T issues was blown way out of proportion and was just a few people that broke theirs because they race them at the drag strip. Didn't know they could crap out just driving to movie theater with my wife! Guess this car will remain stock for 3 years....

What's a tune have to do with a manual transmission? You don't tune in shift points like an auto.

I am not sure my dealer told me if i use the line lock it will void my warranty. It sounds like bs, but i have done 0-60 and track app stuff.

Not fast at all I was just coasting most of the time with the clutch held in at like 5-20mph I was on my way to the dealer trying to limp it into them.... didn't want it exploding all over the road on my way there. The video is deceiving because my exhaust is so loud. That clicking sound it was making going into 1st is how it sounds constantly with the clutch in our out, in gear or in neutral. even at idle at a complete stop it sounds like that just not fast.

6200 miles, stock everything other than the exhaust. I had the dealer changed the engine oil so far but that's it. Those miles are from 3 trips to Utah from Seattle (800 miles one way) and a few times to Portland. so mostly all highway. Do you really have to change the M/T fluid that often on these cars? I thought changing the fluid in my A/T F-150 ever few oil changes was overkill but a manual car????
