I get this too. What is it with truck owners?
I've noticed an inverse relationship between truck height and intelligence. I understand some diesels are fast, but for every one that is, there is another 500 that just want to blow black smoke everywhere. At least around here, anyway.

How significant is break in? I'm not too familiar with it.

Break-in sets the seals and makes a huge difference in how long the engine lasts. The manual for my car said 1000miles is the break in. Should avoid long highway driving, aggressive acceleration, and you should vary revs.

Come down to Tampa, plenty of hooning to be had here.
I live on Clearwater Beach and as soon as you go over the Courtney Campbell bridge, it's amazing how spanish and how fast it turns into ricer central. Tons of flush acuras/lexus, tons of $300 del sols with an exhaust leak that think they have 500 hp, it's great. I feel like if I ever want to feel good about myself I just go to tampa and humiliate all those losers. Here in clearwater, there's really no racing going on and the ricers are just cruising along lol

Standard procedure:
- Pull up at light
- Assess cars on either side
- Check for cops
- Depending upon competition and conditions flip to Sport+ or track mode
- Tell GF to put her drink in the cupholder
- Go

A tuned EB = lots of stoplight fun

I enjoying hooning the car at stoplights. Can't help it. When I was test-driving a GT around (Gods, what a car), nobody wanted to race it. People seem to fear it, and for good reason.
I have people trying to race me all the time. Every idiot in an AMG or a Cayman is always trying to get me to go from a stoplight.

I've had a few people try to race me in my GT... of course most of them were dumb rednecks in lifted diesel trucks.
I don't know about the dumb redneck part, but I've run into a few people who think their pickup is fast.

As far as the trucks go... generally most of those guys are slow. But as the diesel guys pointed out earlier, there are always exceptions to the rule... like this guy who strapped a functional jet engine to his truck:

I had my car all of 3 days and of course I get all the engine revving next to me. I just ignored them. Not worth the points and ticket. But driving to work I got another rev that morning and look over and there was an Audi R8 wanting a piece of me. Wish I had time. I would have liked to see how it would have ended, but my parking lot was the next right hand turn.

Specifics?

You should take your car to cars and coffee. Anyone in the Tampa/St. Pete/Clearwater area should that's on here. Get the M6G squad going.

So far the only Mustang meetup I've gone to is Pony Up's Mustang Mondays at Biff's. They are very cool people!
