Have any of you guys in the USA taken delievery of or viewed any Mustangs in the Showrooms, in the last 4 weeks?

If so, have there been any Panel Alignment or Paint issues?

I was wondering if the Quality Control was improving, or the issues I have read on this forum are isolated.

I have a friend that just took delivery of a fantastic red Eco boost, and the fucking paint is peeling off, and grit under some of the clear coat. and the Ford dealers don"t want to touch it.I started a thread on C/Q issues a while back and NOBODY responded, and this car has Q/C issues a mile long,No one wants to say anything bad about this car, just sweep it under the rug and shell out the $$$$$$$$$$$. I would say buyer beware.

I took delivery on April 9, about a month ago. Today I waxed my GT for the first time and didn't notice any mis-alignments at all. I should mention that my car was built on February 9 and was parked at the factory for about a month-and-a-half for what I was told was Quality Control issues. What those issues were I have no idea but as I read comments on this forum it seems that early deliveries were complaining about alignment issues. Maybe that's what they fixed?

My car was made early Dec 2014, and its panels and paint are about as good as it gets from what I've seen/read on this chat board on issues on cars built after mine. It's black, so it will show stuff other colors wouldn't. I think it's more like the luck of the draw how the car is going to come out from the factory.

But you would think that Ford should have corrected some production issues by now on the 2015s if there was any due to a pure production issue (ie, robots, machine factors) and not a pure "human QA" kind of issue. There are still people putting these cars together, so there is margin for QA to slip or not in certain areas.

Red Stang 302, good luck to you - hope you get a good one.

Actually I am astounded by the fitment of my ecoboost .. paint job is nice too .

Ford has their act together when it comes to such issues ..

Oh just finished the ecoboost challenge at Arlington Race Track near here .. what a blast of an afternoon . Lots of freebies .....

I think alignment issues are still hit and miss. My blend date was April 1st and took delivery April 24th. I have a slight alignment issue on the drivers side door where when shut it's not flush and sunk in a bit up hear the door handle. I've tried adjusting the striker thing out but didn't help. Also what seems to be the typical hood and trunk issues where you have to slam the damn thing to close them. I was able to fix the hood and just deal with the trunk.

Mine is a 02/15 build and, though I've owned it on 7 days, I washed it today and can't find any exterior issues at all.

Alignment is perfect and paint is beautiful --> DIB!

I don't know how you could say Ford has there act together on this, my car built in Mid-November had several panel alignment issues... most are now better but none are what I'd call perfectly flush or square! I'm beginning to think that some of the base shells/chassis/substructures are not square so none of the panels fit correctly! QA/QC in the that area needs to be addressed!

My son picked up a Guard v6 on April 26; he had a choice between 2, one with a spare and the other without. He took home the latter; both cars where near perfect and built mid-week of April.

Also got to look at other cars on the lot, all arrived same week as his. QC is definitely up.

Again keep in mind, nothing is ever perfect with a mass produced vehicle even if there were no aesthetic flaws; hence why i said "near perfect". All I can say is be diligent in inspecting what you ordered or pick up off the dealers lot.

Good luck to ya.

It's a Mustang...not a Bentley.
Mine has a couple alignment issues and, honestly, they don't bother me. But using the 'it's a Mustang' argument as justification is silly.

My four prior mustangs (two '85s, '92, '97) did not have alignment issues. Nor did my '84 prelude or '85 civic. Same with the many newer (2007+) cars I've owned, including my wife's 2013 Edge.

At local ford dealer a couple weeks ago looking for issues. They had about 15 on the lot. 2 had alignment issues with the trunk. Almost half had the rear window issue sitting low on the left.

Just being real...do you think Bentley's have alignment issues (anywhere)? It's the lowest priced, best "bang for the buck" sports car out there (that's why I love it). For an MSRP of $33k...I'm not going to take it to the dealer & nit-pick it to death. It's leaps & bounds over the last gen, an improvement for sure, not a perfect car & I don't expect it to be.

My Stang was built in the 2/2 build week, so I was very concerned about QC. Panels, paint, brakes, Etc.) But when I took delivery, I was very satisfied with everything. And I took about 30 min. going over everything before I told the dealer I was ready to sign. I have had the car for 5 weeks now, and I am very happy with it.
