Tuning questions or opinions

Hey all I've been on the forum for a few weeks. Picked up a ecoboost pp manual in race red about a month ago from lindsay ford in maryland. I live in lower delaware right near ocean city maryland. I just have a few questions or opinions.
I'm looking at the Bama tune or the unleashed tune. I've seen the dyno numbers and read a little on each one. I've considered cobb also which I'm familiar with them having had a few sti's before. I'm going to be doing a cat back and intake too when I order a tune. Still deciding what intake and cat back to do to. Hard decisions lol. What do you recommend as far as tuning both have alot of pros. Just need some direction in which way to go. Also with cat backs too. Looking at the maperformance and magnaflow.

If sound is important to you, specially for the ecoboost, check out solo performance. They have the best sounding exhausts for the Mustang ecoboost.

Thanks for the quick response. Ill be putting some miles on the car on the weekends as I do travel quite a bit. I keep hearing a lot of good things about unleashed. All I want for this car is a tune,intake and a cat back and I'll be done....for now lol. I want to order everything today so I'll hopefully have it all by the weekend.

Does the car still fall flat on higher rpms ?

You'll probably hear great things about any tune out there. I don't think there's really a terrible choice out of the big names. Not always best to go for the best #s, if it's a DD you want to make sure it's not lurching all over the place.

I've personally been tuned for about a week. Torrie at Unleashed did mine. Hands down the best $400 I think I've ever spent on anything. He walks you through everything, emails your tune within minutes of you sending him your strategy code and is more than willing to send revisions as necessary (as will be necessary as you mod). As an example, I wasn't happy with the firmness of the automatic downshifts in sport mode...he send me a few revised tunes to make sure I was happy. The tune is important, but customer service is also important.

I can't speak for the other tunes, and like I said you'll hear great things about them too, but I can't speak higher of Unleashed...this car is a whole new animal.

I'm already sold on Torrie's tune, just gotta wait a little while after putting a few mods on so I can save up a little bit of cash. It's becoming increasingly tough though when I keep reading things like this...:headbonk:

If it's between those two options, Unleashed or Bama, I'd choose Unleashed. Torrie has a lot more experience with the EcoBoost platform and does amazingly well with his customer service. That's not to say Bama doesn't do well because they do, especially in regards to customer service, but I'd take the more experienced tuner in this scenario.

Yea I think I'd take unleashed based on experience with the EB between the two. I believe Bama has the larger operation though

OP-I was in the same boat as I have been a SCT user for 20+ years but made the switch to Cobb for the EBM for a lot of reasons; there are a lot of good tuners that use Cobb, if you are going to use SCT then Torrie would be my choice.

Larger does not equate better.

Which is why I said unleashed. But there are advantages to a larger operation including more access to parts for testing (AM carries almost everything) and customer support. While Torrie is great and very responsive, he might not always be available whereas Bama has a team of tuners

Well....I see Torrie on here day and night/7 days a week answering questions and getting tunes out, you won't see that from AM on the weekends...and the internet/forums/FB is full of unhappy Bama customers who need numerous revisions or have numerous issues with their tunes so it is crucial to the consumer to do the research on a tuner/company before spending money with them. All companies/tuners have some issues, I understand no one is perfect.

Doing research and asking a lot of questions is why I went Cobb/MAP for my tuning/parts.

I've seen bama's 1/4 mile runs on youtube. I haven't seen anyone run the 1/4 with the unleashed tune yet. I can't imagine it being much different. AM does carry everything I've been in their site a few times lately. Just want to pick everything out once and be happy with my choice.

I'm Def leaning towards the map cat back. Looks quality, sounds pretty good too. Now to find the right intake

Mike ran a 12.8 in 1/4 mile with the unleashed tune, however I think his was a bit more aggressive than what you would normally get because he requested a lot of revisions

MAP's is nice! I had the Airaid first, switched to MAP and don't regret it.
