Base = No HD Radio?

I really haven't been able to drive my car much, so call me dumb......

But, from what I've seen the base radio does not have get HD radio signals?

Is that true?

If I'm not mistaken the only way to get HD radio is to get the 12 speaker Shaker system package that also includes memory seats and cross traffic alert.

Figured it would be that way though. IMO HD radio should be standard on every system, regardless of the trim level.

It is standard in most cars now. I even have it on my 2009 jetta

Yes that's correct. They felt that having 3 mute buttons for the radio/audio would be better than having a Sirus/HD radio button

Unfortunately no - my Eco premium with 9 speaker doesn't have HD radio. I thought it would, but upon careful reading of all the Mustang lit I found that's only included in the ShakerPro "01" packages.

No, it's a function of rds: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_Data_System

You need a head unit with a digital tuner in order to get hd radio stations.

Well that's disappointing to say the least! My car does not have a HD radio, but another car with the same exact specs/price built a month later does?

Yep. As they run through the last of the MFT systems the differentiation between them is not worth the fuss. I wouldn't be surprised to see navigation enabled units in all premiums by the very end of the run.

I bought mine under the impression that the Premium had HD radio, only to find out you had to get the 401 package to have it. Sucks but oh well I can deal. It would be nice though.

I have HD radio, but have not turned on the AM/FM radio since I bought the car. That's what Sirius and my iPod Classic are for.

400A option

I just came from the ford 2015 build and price site. When building a mustang select 400A and scroll down to the bottom, or slide to the side.....it says the HD radio is standard with that package.
