Hello all,

The other day I noticed two strange dents (slight indentations) in my hood. They were in a perfectly horizontal line. Not too bad, but noticeable. Since they are perfectly horizontal I thought maybe somebody at my Dealer shut the hood with a tool in their hand and was going to call and complain.

However, there is suddenly a third dent and it wasn't there yesterday when I washed the car! It is also perfectly horizontal with the first two.

Is this being caused by some fault in the aluminum? The hood seems much lighter and thinner than my '11 GT and does seem to have some play in the wind. Has anybody else seen this?

I know for sure that I wasn't hit by debris this morning. I didn't even drive very far at all.

So strange... Can anybody help?

Based on the pictures I'd say it's just an optical illusion.

What's underneath that? I'd check on mine but I'm at work.

Where is the 3rd one you mentioned? I only see 2

Can't get the third to show up well in pictures. I'll try again when I get home.

I only see 2 in the rocky 6 dice of the seam.

Looks like someone is depressing hood there to close it.
I suppose that's possible. The car was in for service and they might have forced it closed. I checked the car, but I only noticed them after I washed it.

I'm mostly just concerned that hood stress is causing it, but somebody forcing it closed and a dirty car concealing the damage seems like the most reasonable explanation.

I had one of these and I didn't notice it for a couple weeks. I think it may be a weld, but not positive. I brought it in to my dealer and he got it out no problem via PDR.

Ditto

I had one of these show on the top of my rear quarter panel. This is where the trunk wing overlaps the quarter panel on the GT. Paintless dent guy made it disappear in 10 minutes. I was amazed. Still no idea on how it happened.

The panels on these cars really feel cheap. I've noticed that while just using spray detailer I. It.... Thinner and thinner all the time

Main reason I drop my hood close and don't push it down

I had one in the center of the deck lid, the dealer had their pointless dent guy fix it can't tell it was ever there.
