Well the official verdict is they have decided it is the resonator and will need to replace the entire section from the resonantor back. Not sure how I feel about this as I was looking at buying an aftermarket exhaust at some point

Ditto I had one of these show on the top of my rear quarter panel. This is where the trunk wing overlaps the quarter panel on the GT. Paintless dent guy made it disappear in 10 minutes. I was amazed. Still no idea on how it happened.
