Special clauses

So a few people have been mentioning special clauses here and elsewhere.

I just got off the phone to my dealer and any cars with special clauses ie subject to test drive, subject to finance through...... will either need the clauses removed or they will not be delivered in the first batch.

My dealer said this was to stop dealerships ordering cars then saying oh well the owner didnt like how it drove. If there are any issues with cars and the owner not taking them or failing to get financed, then those cars will be shipped back to the holding yards.

Yeap. My contract says "Subject to final inspection". I made it a point to put down a few extra things into the terms before signing.

Haha sorry mate, yeah took me by surprise as well, i didnt have any special clauses in my contract but a friend in W.A had the test drive one, thats why i called my dealer just to make sure it was legit.

I've paid the deposit, received the contract but the dealer hasn't chased me up to sign. Better than having any special conditions!
Worse case I loose my deposit.

I actually asked about that as well and as long as the hand written one is signed, which you would have done when you paid the deposit then its all good. He said that the typed one with the codes and that can be sorted out down the track. All they care about is having the deposit and having what you want.

Maybe this is related to my post about the display car doing the rounds in the next few months.

Ford can then say we've been given an opportunity to see the vehicle in person which should mitigate some of our 'subject to' concerns.

Yeah that would definitely help, i know Fordau's facebook page has said that they are working on making sure everyone that has preorded will get to view a car before hand.

Yeah i agree that is annoying as well, i wanna know which steeda parts i do and dont need haha but the euro cars started getting built 2 days ago so we might see more info soon

Same here - a grand down and a "work in progress" contract emailed to me complete with spelling errors. I haven't yet been asked to put pen to paper.

I'm quite confident that my dealer will deliver the goods - have been quite impressed with communications otherwise.

I'm not removing those conditions since I have no clue of how the final car will be equipped or how it will drive - I do have some concerns about the suspension/handling. Hopefully we'll be getting a EU/UK suspension tune if they are modifying it for those customers.

I would give your dealer a call just to be on the safe side, it sounds like this dealer bulletin is recent and it would suck to miss out on the first batch and have to wait till the end of the year based on a clause.

When I was messaging Ford through Facebook recently they indicated there will be an updated brochure with final specs coming out sometime soon, but didn't say when.
