Stipped, meaning bare, is $65k. Cloth/leather, 6MT. Adding a metallic paint and extended leather puts it at $66k.

You can add options that people would consider "must haves" like the various paints, leather, adaptive suspension, bluetooth, and upgraded audio and barely crest over 70k. So I wouldn't call that stripped, especially given the amount of standard features.
just checked, your right. I dont need any of those bells and whistles. Same for the 350. No backseats, no magnetic ride bs, no radio, no leather...leather isnt used on any track car anyway.

I stand corrected. I thought that I remembered a base price of $70K and an as tested price of >$90K from an article.

Don't prepare yourself to accept less or the equivalent QC for more than double the money. That's just not acceptable in any book. Otherwise...just buy a base model V6 and pay me the 35k to align it correctly.
Pretty sure the extra cost is for the motor, transmission, suspension, and other performance parts.

Body alignment should be expected to be the same as a base V6 IMO.

Agree to an extent. Don't forget it's totally different from the windshield forward. Perhaps those different panels were built to more exacting tolerances.

The Cost of the sum of all those bits do not inflate the cost as much as slapping the name ShELBY on it.

I disagree completely. The motor bits are using much of a Coyote for the template. The rest are all add ons and tweaks supplied by third parties.

The SHELBY name is where most of their profit is. We should expect better QC as a result.

Lower volume increases price too.

I am German. But honestly I don't care if the car comes from Europe or North America. My window sticker was $43,800 CAD for my EB PP. Someone wrote that you can't expect for $60,000 a decent Mustang. Honestly? Some must print money in the basement or live in a bank! I am one who got a Mustang with bad alignment issues. Sorry! If Ford things that a 50th year car should look like a accident car, IMO - I can't agree with that.

The OP is right to post his worries. LE owners should be doing that too and don't let Ford get away with this issues. For me with an EcoBoost Mustang, nothing special, these panel and rear window issues - that's very painful to deal with. If I had to order a 350/R - I would make sure in writing that I could refuse the car without a penalty if it arrives with the known issues. That's my 2 cent.

Love the new 350 and mustangs in general but the new BMW M3/M4 will be competition with the new 350. With just a Tune on the new BMW M's id be scared to run with an NA car that isnt FI
I think it depends on where you're running with the F8x...on a track, especially a tight, technical track, the extra torque from the turbos won't be much of an advantage.

Additionally, not everyone prefers the power band and feel of a turbo engine. Given the choice, I'd choose a NA V8 over a turbo 6 just from a driving experience and enjoyment standpoint. (Granted, I haven't driven either of these cars so what do I know? :headbonk:) There will always be other cars faster in a straight line, but I'm sure the GT350 will be plenty fast enough. ;)

The sound that fills the GT350 should make anyone forget about panel gap issues. The pros will hugely outweigh the cons. I expect the QC on the GT350 to be equal to the base 6 cylinder cars.

Now, if the Ford GT came off the line with obvious panel gap issues, that would be completely unacceptable as it will not be a mass produced car.

I have seen numerous C7 Vettes including new Z06's with improper fender/body panel alignment. The QC in Bowling Green in the second year of C7 production isn't that good.

German cars' fit/finish is definitely better than found on North American vehicles. Their reliability and longevity, however, is not.

Mercedes has a huge quality burden for panel alignment as well. Some of my coworkers evaluated a plant, and they do alot of panel alignment touch up after the car is assembled by hand.
