Heated seats are niiiiice! I too was confused on deciding between the standard seats which are great and the Recaros. In the end I decided to go w/the Recaros, though they are a $1595 option, that's a steal when you compare that to the price of comparable aftermarket seats.

As far as color I like the Comp Orange over the Race Red and White though I ordered a DIB GTPP. I didn't want to drive an orange car to work everyday, now if the car will be a week-end toy/track car Comp Orange would my choice of color!

Put me down as another one that thought the recaros looked SO COOL and how could they possibly not be comfortable.....and then...I sat in them....

.... I was so mad. They still looked great, but when I sat in them I wasn't UNCOMFORTABLE...but I wasn't COMFORTABLE either. I just kept trying to shuffle and get the thing (bolster) to stop sticking in the side of my lung. I thought they were tolerable though....and then...

...I sat in the premium leather which is very comfortable and nearly indistinguishable from my explorer seats. I was so mad, how could the recaros let me down like this?

Alas, I am currently searching for my ride with no recaros, less money, and heated and cooled as a bonus (Looking back, after this winter I used the heated seats in my current car so much, I bet that would irritate me too).

Maybe it's because I'm a big guy, 6'4" and 270lbs

Bottom line, as said before: SIT IN THEM FIRST

I love my Recaro's, car isn't a daily driver so I don't need the power seat or heated/cooled seats.

I certainly would not get them AND the 401A but it's your car and get what you want. I couldn't justify paying for 401A just to basically get the upgraded shaker since I could care less about HD radio and don't get memory seats.

JMHO
401a also has BLIS which has been much more awesome than I thought it would be.

Ah yes another feature I personally don't like or need, I much prefer the blind spot mirrors even though they are smaller on the '15 than my '13.

In the end I was just basically paying for the upgraded shaker system if I got 401A, at least in my mind as far as what I would actually get any benefit out of using.

I just got back from test driving several mustangs with a younger salesman I knew, he let me do whatever. Was a fun day. At one point I had 2 cars next to each other and I was running back and forth testing the leather recaro and leather seats.

The recaro's just made the car feel much more sporty, the normal leather seats were less firm but for me not more comfortable against the leather recaros, I am 200lb 6.1 and the recaro just fit me very well. I felt the normal seats had a great amount of bolster but for me they were squishy and they had lateral movement back and forth, the recaro were more firm and you had better connection with the road, what you would expect from a track seat. Ford is offering to install heaters into the recaro leather seats. (Not sure if possible really)

So far my choice would be the recaro leather seat with red-line trim, gives the red door panels and red stitching. Looked great! This is not my daily driver, its a fun toy to take to track, so I want a firm seat.

At the same time I want the mood lighting, accents, and everything that comes with the premium model. There is nothing I want in 401a except HD stereo and the extra speakers, I played with the stereo and like others said, its not the best. I want to hear the sound of the car, with that said, I would rather add my own lightweight small sub and speakers that would probably perform better. removed 401a. I use Spotify instead of FM these days on my cars that have HD radio/XM etc. I plan to continue that. Spotify also has a superior EQ and if streamed through USB is superior sound to anything I have used yet.

My build is now 42,300 MSRP w/destination, probably around 38,700 invoice.

I dropped adaptive cruise, not sure how that would work with 600-700hp anyway, plus its a manual.

I dropped navigation, although, will this be able to pull up track maps? I may add that back in, I use my iPhone for nav, and all my cars have voice nav, I just never use nav in any of my vehicles.

Current configuration.

Premium GT
400A
Enhanced Security
GTPP
Reverse sensing
Premium trim w/color accent group
Recaro leather seats w/red line trim

Looks like red-line trim is only with darker colors? Not sure why, it would go good with red. Anything I am missing? I may add back in 401a.

Redline Recaro's you only get the red door stitching and not the red door inserts. Just an FYI on that.

Also the Track Apps are in every single trim regardless of Nav or not.

Since when? I've seen Redline Recaros with red inserts.

Let me find the pictures.

Thanks for the responses! I am heading in to check both seats out tomorrow.

Does anyone know if you can order the Mustang and purchase the Ford Racing supercharger with it?

I do prefer the vortech, but also the appeal of just getting the car with it installed from Ford.

Love the feedback, super awesome forum.
No, at least not from a Ford dealership.
There's a note indicating this for the Roush SC on the Ford Racing Website.

If I recall, the Rep from Ford on this site said that the red door panels were actually an error in production.
