I haven't driven my EB in anger yet but I have close to 50 race weekends running SCCA regionals in the Northeast and at Sebring. You should be fine with the PP brakes. Pads and SS lines will make a big difference. DON'T get full race pads, they will not work on the street. If you experience fade switch to a better brake fluid. I use Motul 600 in my race car. You give away some dry boiling point temp but 600 has the best wet boiling point for the money. You can get it for 15 bucks a pint if you shop around.

I'm with you, anyone who thinks pp brakes aren't good enough after a pad, line, and fluid change I would like to know the track and lap times lol

What a bunch of monkeys.
It may be equivalent in some ways but I was really disappointed in their weight. In one of the threads I found it to be slightly heavier than the 6 piston caliper.

The added weight in my opinion is due to its size. Physically it's about the same size as the 6 Pistons.

I'm sure the Brembo in the 13-14 are much lighter than what they gave us. If you take a look at the standard GT brake there is a lot of overhang. Particularly towards the wheel hubs so much so that you can't see the pads. I didn't notice this until a brake company I was working with told me about the design challenges behind making 2 piece rotors for this caliper.

Although they are made by Ford I would think they are just as good. I got that info from this article BTW

Ford notes that the standard brake package on the Mustang GT is equivalent to the 2014 Mustang GT’s Track Package setup—and that’s the same package as you’ll get with the 2015 Mustang EcoBoost performance pack.

Ok, lot of assumptions going on and brake mass isn't a bad thing for a track car. To each his own I'd rather spend money on tires and track fees, brakes work good enough for me so far.

So many people always rush to upgrade the size of their brakes instead of the contents of their brakes. On almost any car, the standard brakes with upgraded pads, rotors, fluid, and lines can stop anything

we put these 6 piston monoblock brembos on our Mustang ecoboost. nobody "needs" them, but they rock!! great initial bite, modulation and will take a lot to heatsoak them -- it really makes sense if youre making bigger power and plan to spend any time on a track (not dragstrip).

That's actually the future plan. Build of a 400-500 hp tracking/daily driving hybrid capabilities. 6 piston I thought would be a great help and be enough for that power increase range that I'm looking into.

Geoff, thanks for the input about the advantageous of monoblock caliper.

There's nothing wrong with the brakes at all. With pads and some nice fluid they will do really well!

what do you think about the base ecoboost break setup? Again, as mentioned in another thread, I may be leaning towards a bare bone ecoboost and I was wondering if the break setup would not be enough? besides not looking as good.:)

I would like to do a track day.

Mine: daily driver...$1900 will be invested in more go power, brakes are more than adequate for my commute.

So after contacting a Customer Rep from American Muscle, i've heard that the OEM GT stangs' Brembo 6 Piston fits on EB PP. I know someone else posted that the fit was good, but I couldn't find that thread. My purpose of this thread is to ask whether anyone would be willing to spend $1,899.99 for a 6 piston Brembo caliper to install in their EcoBoost? I'm sure in time, there will be cheaper alternatives like for example some GT peeps willing to sell their 6 Piston Brembos to upgrade for something better. So as my fellow EB enthusiasts, would you go for it?:crazy::confused:
guitrflip - That's a really tough one and I'd have to ask what you're looking to do with the car? I've romped on a few EB's and I really think that their brake setup is pretty stout but you could get away with doing pads and rotors if you're just looking for a little more bite. Tracking the car? Auto x ?

Let me know if you're to have any other questions and if you'd like to have a quote set up shoot me a PM with your info and I'll have one shot over.

Alex

There's not much wrong with the stock pads. Yes there are better, but stainless hoses and motul fluid would make the biggest difference

With a car as heavy as the mustang I would say that they may not be sufficient. I also think it will be hard to find more aggressive brake pads.
