For LE, do I use ground above red Switched power or the one 4 slots over on the bottom?

If you want to have it work right and not turn off when you go in reverse, use the middle bottom for ground. Assuming you have a manual transmission, otherwise I don't know what the upper ground will do with an automatic.

FYI,

I just installed the MT-2009 9", worked flawlessly in this config does NOT turn off in reverse. It also turns on/off immediately instead of the 10 minute 'comfort battery drain' BS Ford has going on with accessories in the 12v plug.

I do have 401A/ACC, not sure how either of those packages affect the mirror pins though, if at all. I should note the mirror tap leads ended up fitting on mine facing up, on the top side of the molex pins.

Used these pins which I checked myself with my multimeter:

I wish I understood electrical schematics enough to follow that. Awesome!

Using the location marked with the green circle for ground, and the red location for switched power, it does not turn off in reverse.

Has anyone considered using d-sub male crimp pins to piggy back off the existing molex connector in the mirror like in the MirrorTap kit?

T-taps and vampire / butt splice connectors can really sever the wire you're trying to get power from, so I'd rather do something less damaging.

I bought a dashcam hardwire kit (http://www.foxoffer.com/mini-0801-car-camera-hardwire-kit-p-743.html#.VRBLnvnF_ON), which has bare leads for power and ground. I was thinking about soldering two crimp pins on, plugging them into the mirror connector and calling it a day.

I tapped into fuse number 36, which is the second fuse circuit down from the top right as you look at the fuse box on the passenger side of the cabin. On my GT Premium this circuit has a 15 AMP fuse and it is switched, meaning on/off with the ignition. The owner’s manual labels the circuit “Auxiliary body module”. Not sure what it powers….

I used a “ADD-A-CIRCUIT ATR MICRO2 FUSE-TAP Add ON DUAL CIRCUIT ADAPTER” that I ordered from Amazon. It came with a 5 amp fuse for the additional circuit provided by the adapter.

THANK YOU for this... I just rewired my Radar and added an Escort remote Mute button next to shifter...Fuse 36 worked like a CHAMP! Getting the wire up the "A" Colum without triggering or messing with the airbag...another story...Slowly I weaved!

15 amp is pretty huge. Your detector would burn to a smoldering pile of plastic before that fuse tripped. Please make sure you have a ~2amp inline fuse in the dedicated power wire if you tap that factory fuse. (if you don't use an add-a-fuse that is. Add-a-fuse will, by its name, add a separate fused circuit. With that, buy a 2amp fuse to use in the add-a-fuse)

The Multi tap I used has 2 slots for the one...So I replaced the existing circuit #36 with the 15amp, and put a 5amp on detector circuit with a 2amp inline before detector.

Thank you!

This way works perfect in in my GT Prem Convertible 401A without ACC.

Power is on and off with the car and it works in reverse.

I'm guessing the wiring is the same for the 2016 models. Has anyone tried it yet? Just ordered a mirror tap and very anxious to get it installed.

Just installed the mirror tap on my 2016 V6 using the diagram above and it works great. Turns off and on with the car and stays on in reverse. Installation couldn't be easier.
