This is a fun one. :D Did this route on my honeymoon years ago, only that time it was in a rented new Corvette.

But it was just last Monday I was in Sac (Woodland) and Saturday I was on the GG / playing in SF.

Have a safe trip down. :)

In the next month or so I'll be driving from Mn to Ft Myers, Fl. Really looking forward to the trip. Will post long stretch MPG and comfort updates.
Comfort will be superb and auto trans helps A LOT. :D

Thanks. This is the first of a few "bucket list" trips I'm planning, which includes Yosemite and the North Coast.

Let's us know your gas mileage

I'll be driving from San Diego to Longview WA next month to visit a friend. That's 2246 miles / 34 hours round trip (not counting LA traffic :p).
Really looking forward to it :)
If it's a GT that is!

I did a trip to Vegas and back from the Denver area about two weeks ago, around 740ish each way. The car did great, except that brake noise that developed when I got into Vegas and now appears to be permanent, I need to get it into the dealer for a look. I went I-70 to I-15, the trip going out had traffic jams on both ends, coming back was much better only took about 10 hours.

Looks like you asked about gas mileage...I mentioned earlier it was around 22.3mpg but was more like 22.6 on the highway. I didn't punch it very often or speed (already got a written warning and would like to keep the record clean). Turned on the cruise and averaged maybe 6-7mph above the speed limit. Once outside CA I even got to put in 92 octane gas. :D

Funny you ask, I forgot to mention a little run in that took place during my drive. There's a 130 mile stretch in upstate NY that goes from Syracuse to Buffalo on I-90 that I take as part of my route to Toronto. It's a very straight and flat stretch of highway that would be perfect for pushing the car if it weren't for the heavy police presence. About halfway through that stretch I had some dude in a WRX literally BEGGING me to race. He was hovering around me for a good 30 minutes, trying to lure me into it. At one point I gave the pedal a little pump for him to hear my H-pipe pop and crack a bit and boy did that get him all hot and bothered

Needless to say, I didn't play along and he finally gave up and kept going. With both this car and my S197, there's never any shortage of other cars (of all types) that want to test their chances:ford:
dude.. i just moved to california from astoria queens.

Today this happened to me for the first time - at least the first time I was aware of it. I was heading west on I-8 in fairly light traffic and the other driver was in a VW something-or-other, briefly hanging around, revving his engine. I don't think he was trying to "race" (why in the world would he want to do that?), but rather just wanted to see this thing move. (I guess?) Alas, I would not humor him and he gave up. :p

This is my biggest fear with buying this car, that someone is going to constantly be challenging me to race... thumbs up and cool car comments are alright, but someone challenging to race has got to get old after the first time...
You could always ignore 'em and turn up your music in that premium Shaker sound system

I didn't necessarily go anywhere close to 2,246 miles... LOL.. But I did just come back from a "road trip" to Tampa, FL, which turned out to be 500 miles round trip on the 'Stang.

I left when I got off of work around 9, got some Chick-Fil-A, went and pumped gas and satisfied my sweet tooth with some Starburst, and off I went to start my first road trip in her. The drive over there was calming......... State Route 60 is a little terrifying, however (two lane highway, can't necessarily see because of all the semi trucks, drivers going 85 MPH, tailgating until the passing lane becomes available, and since it is cutting through the middle of the state of Florida, you have to worry about wildlife).

Got near downtown Tampa around 11 pm and it was a blast driving the 'Stang around all the curvy interstate turns near the skyline. I remember the adrenaline was coming as traffic was starting to become heavy, but we were all flowing the speed limit. I remember that Neon Trees song "Sleeping With A Friend" was playing. :headbang:

Stayed a few days with friends there. I was getting so annoyed and angry because traffic on I4 during the days was all stop and go and I knew I was putting wear & tear on my engine. Ran a little hot too sometimes here and there. Never again will I drive in Tampa around 5 pm.

The drive back felt like it was faster. The 2015 Mustang is a great car to go on a long road trip on. I never felt a slight discomfort in my body!

Yes, rush hour traffic in Tampa is terrible. It takes me forever to get home from work!

I apologize to you if you have to use your Mustang as your DD in that traffic everyday.

Haha yeah, I got rear-ended once already but luckily no damage. I have witnessed a lot of accidents happen right next to me though and it makes me real nervous.

I hear ya. It's scary being 150 miles away from home in nothing but your new baby and that's your only way home. All it takes is someone who isn't paying attention to come and ruin that all for you.

We were actually sitting at the light at W Kennedy BLVD at FL-600 and witnessed a Ford Explorer t-bone a brand spanking new 2015 Lexus LS (still had the window sticker on it). That made me terrified. I just wanted to take my car back to my friends house and call a cab to head to the beach that day, lol.
