Square setup using (4) 19x9 PP Wheels?

I have a GT with the performance pack and was thinking I'd like to be able to rotate tires.

I know the rear PP 19x9.5 wheels will not fit on front without a spacer or something so I am just thinking of buying 2 more black PP 19x9 wheels and using those for the rear, in which case all 4 tires will be P255/40R19 and then I can rotate.

I know there is the advantage of a little bit better traction with the 19x9.5 wheels with P275/40R19 tires in the rear, but otherwise what disadvantages would there be having all 4 wheels 19x9 with P255/40R19 tires?

My wheels are the OE black factory Performance Package wheels that came with the car so I guess what you list as factory specs are what I have.

I see your posts all the time and value your opinion!
Is there anything I should be concerned about if I swapped out the rear PP 19x9.5 wheels for front PP 19x9 wheels?
I mean I know the rear wheel is 1/2" wider and the tires are wider also (275 instead of 255), but 40R19 makes them the same height I assume?

So if this is correct I assume there is no fitment issue with the rear brakes since they are smaller than the front Brembos. I would imagine the 19x9's might look slightly different to the trained eye, mounted in the rear since they will sit in slightly...but that would only be about a 1/4" difference correct?

Also I realize there may be a slight hit in traction but I'm wondering how much difference that really makes, especially if I don't run on the track.
And finally maybe there will be a resale hit since the tire set up is no longer OE.

But the benefits I see with 19x9 all the way around are the ability to rotate tires, don't need spacer for fronts if I went 9.5 instead, and possibly buy another 19x9 as a spare tire. Something bugs me about not having a real spare tire. I know the fix a flat stuff would probably do the job for most situations but not if a tire got damaged enough.

Based on the data provided here you will be fine.
The fronts on the back will work dandy.
Just a little less rubber and rim sticking towards the inside of the car.

And imho - it may just make the car more fun as well.

Hello VIN666, So it might be little more squirrelly in the back with slightly less rubber? Yes that might be fun...and might have to be careful too.

So I see you say the speedo will be off by 2%?

I don't get it...aren't both the front and rear wheels the same height...assuming different heights would be the factor to affect that?

As i said, all numbers based on data provided

255 40s are a touch smaller in diameter than 275 40s
At least in theory. Tires aren't usually exactly the size they are marked at.
Long story short, i see no issues with your plan.

And yes, less rubber in the back will make it more tail happy.
Heck, even the same tire on a different width rim can act differently.
So yes, i think you'd notice it on a racetrack for sure.

BC its doable brotha I mean you are thinner the rear out so if you hit the track youll notice it, less contact patch is normally the opposite direction that you want for track setups.

Fitment wise you'll be fine and your speedo will only change by 2% like Vin said.

As for the fix a flat stay away from that stuff it will kill your TPMS sensors !

So it seems the negatives are less traction in the rear and that 2% difference in speedo.

One last question... is that 2% different read for speedo in the plus direction or minus direction?

Your speed will be plus direction

Meaning it will error on the safe side.

Example: when your speedometer reads 100, you'll be doing 98.

255/40/19 is 27" diameter.
275/40/19 is 27.7" diameter.

The middle number is the aspect ratio, aka 40% of the tread width(255 or 275 in millimeters).
