Looks are only half of it, you should drive it!

Drove it for 7 hours this weekend! Really wakes the car up!

Looks good. My kit was missing the plug for the part you cut off but no big deal I just found a plug at the hardware store. I agree it wakes it up just wish the tune would be released to remove the restrictor!

Just installed steeda CAI, with restrictor.
Here are some pictures as well as my thoughts.

1. Quality and build of materials - superb.
2. Shipping - fast
3. Install instructions aren't the best...Watch a CJ pony intake install first!!
3. Fitment is where I had a few problems with.
-The bolt that goes in the air box had metal shards melted in it, so I had to pretty much rethread the nut. Took some time and effort.
- The included plug that is supposed to cover a huge hole in the factory air duct is not the right size. I hope it gets overnighted to me.
-The clip on air box seal seems a little flimsy
- The steeda air box doesn't snap snug and firm into the factory air duct inlet. Mine kept falling apart when I was putting the whole piece in.
4. Looks - looks really really good under the hood.
5. Sound - amazing. Hearing it upon finishing is probably the only thing that took away most of my frustration away. Will post some Vids soon.

All in all, it's still a new product and I'm sure steeda will rid of some of these issues as they further the production. From the available videos, the airraid and Jlt did seem easier to install, although I have to say this one looks the best under the hood.

I did have an issue with my son, as soon as he came out and saw the throttle body he was like dude you need to clean it. I was like clean what there is NO carbon in there! he's overly anal about this stuff and kept bugging me.

I did notice the sound is seriously enhanced at half throttle to WOT. Not sure why this occurs, perhaps more air getting into the engine?

Ditching the factory intake resonator probably makes a pretty big difference in sound just by itself.

You guys should have done before/after recording of the sound and posted it. Curious to hear the difference. Is it all volume?

there are actually 2 resonators on the factory air box, one on top and one of the bottom.

Any intake that is a "filter on a stick"or semi-enclosed setup will be louder than a fully enclosed OEM box. On turbo cars they really make you hear the car working. Comes with the territory if you want the gains.

All-in-all, not a bad install. I did deviate from the instructions at one point by installing the factory cold air feed, then installing the Steeda airbox (instructions call for installing the feed onto the airbox, the installing the entire unit together...I couldn't get it to work that way). There was one piece that appeared to be missing; a plug for capping the hole left after the removal of the factory cold air feed resonator. The plug included was way to small (talking to Steeda now about that). You can see the hole that needs to be plugged right in front and below of the airbox.

<Edit: plug is on its way, just left out of this particular kit.>

has anyone produced a 2015 GT installation video yet?
