Had the car sitting for a couple days now, started it up and black smoke for about 30 seconds out the exhaust.
(Is this normal?)
I have an appointment at the dealership Monday.

Check Engine Light

I also have an ecoboost. I have about six hundred miles on the car and today my check engine light came on. I did a health report and I got the same error as you. It's something about a misfire. Have you taken your car to the dealer?

I have the same build week as you. I'm taking it to the dealer tomorrow morning.

I just dropped off the car at the dealer this morning. I'm hoping its nothing major. I've got less than 700 miles on the car. I'm really worried... I had a warning that came up about the breaks too! I haven't even broken it in yet and it's already at the dealer. :( So much for fords quality control.

I don't thik its a coincidence that both cars had a the same error and they were built the same week. Let's see what happens. I'm curious to see if any other ecoboost's are having the same problem besides these two cars.

I've got a 15 GT with only 711 miles. it threw a check engine light. its at the dealership now. codes were PO303 & PO305 misfire on cylinders 3 & 5. they found two spark plugs had cracked insulators. i'm also having starting issues. both ford engineers & dealership are working to figure this out.

Ok. Just got back from the dealership. The good news is I got my car back. The bad news I'm hoping they really fixed the problem. After reading Moody's post, I'm a little worried. I'm goanna take it easy on the car for the next couple days. Lets see what happens.

The error codes that were found are P0300 and P0316. The tech said he couldn't verify that the engine was misfiring. I was told that there was a Ford SB put out for the ecoboost to resolve the issue. I was also told that they updated the software on the car and that resolved the issue.

No errors found for the brakes even though it was found in my vehicle's health report. I ran another health report on the car after I picked it up from the dealer and everything was green.

It's back! The check engine light came back this morning. I was worried this would happen. I knew the fix couldn't be that easy, it seemed to good to be true. I'm dreading take it back to the dealer again. :frusty:

Speedprotege can you please let us know what happens. I'm might wait until they diagnose your car before I take mine back in.

Is your 'Stang currently at the dealer, speedprotege? Send me a PM with the dealer info, your VIN, name, phone number, and mileage. I'll see how I can assist.

Mine had been dirty spark plugs due to not driving it enough.
It has been really cold weather and I had been starting the car to warm it up a lot but not drive it.
So they clean the spark plugs and told me to drive the car more.
I hope that's all it is.
