I'm one of those orders; (subject to it being a Race Red GT, PP, manual and reasonable price)

Who else?

From what i've heard Ford Australia are asking for more cars so it sounds like supply being limited from Ford US. Now all the way along they have pushed that this is a Mustang for the world market then why the hell limit the supply?
Is it to keep it exclusive in other markets where the price can be at a premium to bolster the low margin high volumes sales in the USA?

Thankfully I've got my name down already, but I do feel for people hoping to walk into a dealership next year and drive out with one...

Once the initial allocation is sold they're likely in for a fair wait.

For all the initial order customers Ford is saying that deliveries will start in December and run till Feb. If it's 1500 units being delivered in 2015, averaging over 3 months that would mean a total of 4500 paid up initial customers hehehe. I seriously doubt supply will be an issue.
It would suck being that 4501st customer..

I don't think its 4500 cars I heard it was 1500 across the whole first delivery... So if you have not ordered now it could be a long wait. I doubt they are bringing in 4500 cars in 3 months

Ford will bring as many cars as has been purchased/ordered. If dealerships sell 10,000 Ford will make us 10,000. This talk of limited supply is nonsense - it's only purpose is to spur demand. It's marketing 101.

This comment seems a little silly... My suggestion was that the initial run was 1500 cars. Given this car is being sold in multiple markets I cannt see your scenario being possible. If there were 10k confirmed orders in aus there is no chance of all these orders being manufactured and delivered between nov-feb.

Post this initial run I am sure that they will bring more cars. But not 10k in the initial run

Mate, there is simply no such thing as initial run of 1500 cars only . I have read internal docs and it basically says that they'll deliver as many cars as has been ordered. I also cannot see anywhere that dealership have been given allocated quantities. They all claim that they only have 20-30 cars allocated when that's simply not true - if dealer can sells 200 cars they will receive 200 cars. It's all marketing nonsense, it's up to the individuals to see through the BS.

I completely get what you are saying but my original point stands. If for some reason they sold 10k cars in aus there is no way they are delivering 10k between nov-feb. My concern is not with a potential delay if ordering late its more than I will be pissed if suddenly additional options are available (which seems highly likely actually)

From what I've heard, they're bringing 6 or so Boats filled with mustangs, adding up to around about 13000 mustangs. They wouldn't just send 1500 or so over in 3 months, thats how you lose paying customers!

13000 that is insane... I would suggest that is not going to happen. They really expect to sell 13000 in a year?

A dealer I spoke to also said that Ford are doing this a different way to any other car release and will deliver all the orders they get by the end of March, in that first Nov-Feb delivery period. I don't know what to believe.
