So The dealers won't have stock sitting on the lots waiting for someone to walk in and buy one. .

Subaru was saying exactly the same for the new STI, it's order only blah blah blah, and then a few months after going on sale I'd walk into a dealership and would get the same line, order only no stock in the country, and I'm basically leaning on an STI in their showroom. When I asked what's the story with this particular car they just said - yeah, this one you can buy and drive out of the store today....

What is considered an "unfilled order"? Order placed post 31st March?

I don't know, my dealers phone rang so I didn't get any more info out of him. I'm not here to speculate but just passing on what I'm told. I thought it was interesting that the dealer doesn't get to resell it.

Here's some info I got from my dealer today that I didn't know - if you don't have an order in, you won't be able to walk in off the street and buy one, and if someone who has an order in pulls out - the vehicle that was allocated for that person goes back to Ford in Melbourne for reallocation to unfilled orders. So The dealers won't have stock sitting on the lots waiting for someone to walk in and buy one.

So if you haven't ordered one, good luck finding one. My dealer has 17 ordered.

When I placed my deposit, my dealer mentioned the above and that they had taken 25 deposits in March alone

This is what I heard from someone who has a mate at a dealership

Apparently 1200 deposits already

I heard it again the other day. Only 1500 in the first shipment. People who think we are getting boatloads and 13000 are fxxking dreaming.
