Any speaker takes time to break in. Generally 100 hoursfor home theater speakers.

Yeah, I'd be curious to see if the muddiness clears up after some break-in time. I think my M50's were estimated to take about 20-30 hours for headphones to break-in.

Today's sources are mediocre (Bluetooth, MP3/M4a, SiriusXM).

If/when my car shows up I'll pull out a few CDs to evaluate the Shaker Pro.

Then I'll go back to the over-compressed digital files we all know and love.

I'm still waiting for my car, but have ordered the Shaker Pro and are curious about how it'll sound.

Would you say it's an ok buy for a bass junkie?

I couldn't care less about "12 speakers" though. My perfect system just has two 10" or 12" bass-speakers and two other speakers. I always turn the treble all the way down and the bass up.
I don't really care about trunk space, so I argued back and forth if I instead should go with an aftermarket solution, like a custom made bass box with powerful amplifiers, but I do want the BLIS and memory seat as well, so I ordered the Shaker Pro. I guess I can always add additional bass later on if it's lacking low frequencies.

It's better than stock system but not better than most after market set ups. You'll probably be replacing it from the sound of your musical tastes

For not being an audiophile I really like it. It's the best I've had in any car I've had and so much better than my WRX it's not even funny

Same here. Im not an audiophile but i like the low end punch. Highs and mids could be better but i should play around with the settings a bit. Overall with the BLIS and Cross Traffic 201A/401A is awesome.

Off topic and this may be a dumb question, but how does one put music on a flash drive using iTunes?

I have it. At first I was underwhelmed with it. After adjusting the Equalizer in the car, AND on my phone, I've now started to enjoy my music collection.

On the iPhone, under settings > Music > EQ > *currently using Bass booster*. After that, setting the bass to full, mid and treb to I think 3 each? I ended up with a setting that made my classic rock, modern rock, Cash, and even the new pop stuff sound pretty good. There's also the "driver" and "all passenger" mode which makes a pretty big difference too with the sound.

Found this on the web:

You can easily convert them to MP3 in iTunes provided that they are not protected (i.e. they say 'Purchased AAC...' not 'Protected AAC...' - recent purchases in the Store are not protected).

Firstly, go to iTunes Preferences>General and click the 'Import Settings' button. Set 'Import Using' to 'MP3 Encoder' and use the next drop-down menu to choose your settings - you can choose 'Custom' and set the bitrate as suits you.

Click OK, then OK again to close the Preferences.

Go to the Music list; select the files you want to convert and from the 'File' menu choose 'Create new version' then 'Create MP3 version' (iTunes 11 - in earlier versions choose 'Create MP3 version' from the 'Advanced' menu).

MP3 versions will be created and placed in the music list (the AAC versions will remain there). You can then drag them to the Flash drive from the music list (doing this will not remove them from the Library). You can select and delete any files as required in the Music list. (Never tamper with the actual library in the Finder). Selecting the 'Date added' column (enable this in View options if necessary) will group all the recent files in order to make removal easier.
