I purchased a 2019 GT base with 80k miles about 3 months ago and the day I bought it a P0430 code showed up. The dealer had ford diagnose it and they said it needed a cat/exhaust manifold part # JR3Z5G232B. This part has been on backorder at ford with no eta delivery dates . The dealer is willing to cover the repair with oem parts once it's avaliable, however there is no end in site. Im still driving it daily with the check engine light on. It is solid but not flashing and the car is still getting good gas mileage. Not sure what to do, the dealer has contacted other dealers and all of them are waiting as well. How long can I drive this without damaging something? Is there another route to fix it besides expensive headers? They tried an aftermarket alternative but it did not fit. The dealer is going to cover the cost of the part and labor for the one cat that is failing (2300). Should I remove the HPipe and make sure it's not dislodged blocking anything?

I’ve been waiting on a factory catalytic converter since April 2026. We’re in September now and Ford still has no ETA for the part. Did you receive any update ?

P0430 will not generally cause damage to your engine. The one notable exception would be a clogged cat. That could cause damage.
If you just want the light off while you wait look into 02 sensor spacers. They are not really legal but will fool the car into turning off the code.
You could also look into a used cat from a salvage yard but I doubt that the dealership will cover that.

Recently I’ve been getting CEL throwing P420 code similar to your problem. My mechanic said the same thing about might be needing a new catalytic converter and suggested using a couple bottles of Cataclean…He cleared the code and So far so good.

GregO, what are we looking at, and why?
Mostly to show there’s no real magic ingredient to this product.
16oz @ 28.00-30.00 bucks… yikes
Recipe is simple enough and compounds available off the shelf.
Xylene
Isopropyl alcohol
Acetone
Kerosene
Toluene
Don’t smoke when mixing…..

Thank you. I was wondering about the composition. Have ran catacean before, and judging by the increased tailpipe deposits, it did something
