I was wondering how the SC darkhorse allocation / ordering process was working. My dealer has an allocation for a Super Charged darkhorse and he said I can have it. Although I want a track edition, I have zero interest in the base SC Darkhorse. My dealer is supposed to get back to me tomorrow in regards to which Spec. It actually is.

My question is are Track edition allocations only going to the highest volume dealers in the country ? If that’s the case I am probably out of luck because although the dealer does very well in our region , the state I live in just does generate High volume sales on Ford performance vehicles and they are not one of the highest volume dealers in the United States . I was just wondering if anyone knows if this is true ? And exactly how the Darkhorse SC ordering allocations work.

Appreciate the help, thank you.

I'd just wait to hear what the dealer finds out. When the GT500 was out, I know I called multiple dealers and had no issues finding a CFTP allocation.

These aren't gonna sell before they arrive like the GT500 there's already incoming cars unsold if you're flexible what colors and options you just wait eventually you're gonna be able to get a discount on a car couple of factors this cost 20 grand more to start than the old Carr interest rates are in 3% anymore. There's 7% outside of Cash buyers is only so many people that are interested in buying this car and it's not a Shelby why do you think the current Shelby's are still selling for used than they were brand new because this car is so much more money and it's not a Shelby and if you do buy one definitely don't pay over sticker if you want to spend 200 grand on a sports car buy a Porsche GTS coupe for 200,000 which will be worth $200,000 in three years

You are not necessarily out of luck, but you are at the mercy of Ford's strict tiering system.Every Ford dealer that enrolled in the Dark Horse SC program and paid the entry fee is guaranteed at least one base allocation. However, Ford determines the exact level—Base, Track Pack, or Track Pack Special Edition—when they "wholesale" the specific build slot to the dealer.

The seventh-generation Ford Mustang and its V8 engines—including the Coyote 5.0L and supercharged 5.2L used in variants like the Dark Horse and Dark Horse SC—are scheduled through the life of the current UAW contract leading to 2028. Ford continues to lean into ICE performance revenue to balance its broader portfolio. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
