Mustang sales are slow. Not a lot of of us S550 owners jumped for an upgrade, there was nothing innovating or exciting to us versus what we have. That's why S550 Mustangs have a good residual value. Ford is not interested in moving Mustangs. Ford got rid of the Edge and now the Escape some of their best sellers. Toyota sells RAV-4 Hybrids and PHEVs at full sticker price. Ford is not poised to win volume sales right now.

S650 Mustang sales are steady and even increasing this year.

About 50k sales this year so somebody is buying them

I usually buy a new car every 3 years, was going to trade my 2019 GT/CS for a 2022 C8, but after a crappy trade-in offer, I decided to upgrade my car with a Super Snake Whipple from Shelby American (money well spent at less than a fraction of cost I would of paid for the Corvette). Glad I made the right choice and I can't see ever paying the current prices for a new Mustang.

Saw a 2025 GT Convertible at my local dealership for 70k msrp.. INSANE....
Even with discounts these new Mustangs are waaaay overpriced. It's a shame... trying to keep the car community alive and young people cannot afford these prices even used.. much less a house..

I bought a '26 GT. I've been considering getting a vanity plate that reads OVRPAID. 🤤
