I'm looking for someone to 3D scan the PP1 vent and gauge trim piece for me. I would do it myself but I'm in the UK and importing the piece from the US is going to be expensive.
What I'm wanting to do is to reverse engineer it in CAD and then mirror it so that I can fit PP1 gauges to a UK, RHD Mustang.
I need a 3D scan of both the front and the back of the trim piece.

Can anyone help a brother out?

I am not quite sure if I am correct. I have the PP on a USA left hand drive Mustang Eco here in the UK. But of course I am not really looking to rip out my coverings, is that your only solution?

I could possibly re-engineer it from measurements of the spacings and diameters of the gauges, then using my own trim piece to use as the reference for mounting lugs etc.
I really need to scan of the back of the piece to see where all the mounting lugs are supposed to go for the gauges.

I know I want a new digital replacement for my tiny Screen. Maybe if I manage to locate that at some point It can be scanned whilst it would be out. But I have not yet found one in the UK to buy or a place that fits it.

Yes, that upper section. I have all of the equipment to scan it. I just lack the actual piece!

Yeah, man. I feel you. It can be a delicate part too so there is the potential to damage it.

You are talking about this upper section arent you?
OK, I've decided to just build it in CAD from a model of my own dash. I'm nearly there with it but I could do with the measurements of how far apart the vents are? Any chance you could measure the distance between your two vents? They are further apart on the cars with the gauges.

Sure I can do that.
What if I took a whole bunch of photos of it. You could use a photogrammetry software to build you a a surface mesh?
