S550 VS. S650 Body Style

This, 100%. I had several sporty cars on my shortlist for purchase last year, and if I were to get a Mustang (my first) it would only be the 15-17 model because of the styling.

If I'm ever to buy another Mustang it would likely only be for weekend/track and something like a GT350 most likely as the S650 just doesn't appeal to me at all. Even the 18-23 took a step back imo for the front end styling.

Yeah, the front end is polarizing for sure, but I love it, especially in Race Red. It's all subjective.

Agreed. I only tolerate the S650 livery in stormtrooper colors : Galactic Empire (white) or First Order (red).

Hahaha even the dark horse black door handles and door pulls fit ours, on my thread I have a write up on how to fit them like factory, the door pulls just need a snip of a extra ear mounting tab that isn't on our s550s

Nice. What if everything is included on the panel already? Will it be a straight swap?

Everything will be a almost straight swap, I sadly didn't take any photos of the back side but 2 things will have to be modified, so the door latch cutout will have to be trimmed and raised higher, look at my thread, i have pics for that and if I remember, 2 or 3 clip mounting pedalstals on the door panel have to be removed flush with the panel because they don't line up, but 80% of the original clips line up

WOW, your thread is really intense! I commend you for doing all that work. If you look at my mods, they took a lot of time and effort (and some $, LOL), and planning but nothing compared to what you've done!

Suffice to say, I think the door swap is not worth the time, money, and effort. I have already swapped my doors for the premium S550 doors, so doing it again seems like overkill. One thing I am annoyed about is that the premium donor mustang was an earlier S550 so that means my door panels don't have the soft rollover! The top part is as hard as a rock. They didn't start to have top portion of the door as soft rollover in the premium trims until 2018! I didn't know that until after I installed them. Really annoying.

I like them both for their own characteristics. They both look great in their individual ways. Yet you S550 lovin' S650 haters better walk light comparing the S650 to an Accord (which I personally think is an exaggeration) For the S550 front end is a dead ringer for a four door Ford Fusion! hahaha!

All that being said, I am right in the middle of choosing a 21-23 Mach 1. Or a 24-25 Grabber Blue Dark Horse. Like I said, I like them both.

I for one appreciate my manual Ford Fusion Coupe with optional V8.

I did dark horse pulls/handles and deleted the lock chrome trim with a piece from a ford transit. Couldn't be happier with the black out but I wish I could do a direct swap of entire door panel. Looks way more modern to me.

only thing that needs modifying is the door pull. The dark horse has this extra "tab" or "ear" you cut it off and the rest bolts to the door the same way a s550 version would. Very easy. For some reason the s650 pulls have an extra mounting point.
