It could also have been what was mentioned earlier if the wifi is searching or the satellite radio is searching. Idk, all I know is once I locked the car it stopped dying. For reference, I do park in an enclosed garage every day.

I get my batteries from Costco. They last just around 5-7 years. For $120 it’s about the cheapest I can find.

Also the Tell-on-your-antics modem is another one that can drain your battery. There are plenty of rants on here about that. You can pull the fuse to kill it. But you will loose Ford Connect and cell phone use.
Its true once you pull that fuse or disconnect the modem behind the tail light you will lose the ford connect app stuff, but i still get phone calls and texts no issue. I never needed an app to have/enjoy a car before, so it was no loss to me. Would do it again in a second.

Personally, I don't think batteries are made as good as just 10-15 years ago
I think the tons more electronics in our car compared to cars for sale 10-15 years ago has a lot more to do with it.

Your car from 15 years ago didn't have an app it was always waiting for commands from.

Cars used to get shut off and stop using power and now they almost never stop using power even when parked for weeks on end. That has to be a big ask on the battery compared to cars of old.

I get what you're saying, but if true, why hasn't the battery technology met that demand of the newer cars they're going into? You'd think that Ford would spec a battery that they're suppliers would then design and deliver. A rechargeable wet battery is 150+yo tech.

You might buy a 2026 Mustang but the platform that is based on is pretty ancient now. Designed like what, 15 years ago or so for the S550 gen? Lot has changed since then but Mustangs are mostly the same.

Cost, simplicity, supply, idk probably a billion reasons the Mustang hasn't changed yet.

A lot of newer cars have 48volt and fancier systems and I would guess handle this better.

It is true that motor craft and others are built in the same plant, but they are not made with the same specs. Fords recipe is better than the others and that is why it is a better battery. FACT!
