Got my Bullitt paint corrected and ceramic coated on Monday. Unfortunately the detailer moved the passenger mirror glass and it broke away from the gearbox. I managed to fiddle with it and get it working again but noticed there was a plastic clip broken on the frame. I have circled it below. It does not seem to affect the functionality of the mirror and the detailer has offered to either pay for replacement parts or have it sent to the dealer to repair.

However, it looks like the clip is part of the frame which requires substantial disassembly of the mirror to repair and honestly, if the mirror adjustment is functioning correctly I'm not overly fussed. Is it worth going through the hassle and possible mirror/bodywork damage for this?

That clip is likely one of multiples that snap the mirror bezel onto the mirror housing. There are others that will still keep it attached but it will probably be a little loose on that corner. A little dob of epoxy should hold it. Only other option is to replace it.

To do this, the entire mirror must be replaced; worst case only the painted cap will remain from the old mirror. Alternatively, find a good used one and use that part.

To me, it just doesn't make any sense to take so much apart just to get the job done...

I agree, not worth it. Thanks for the reply.

This means the detailing etc.
Why the hell did they disasable the whole mirror?
Makes no sense to me?

I would get it fixed one way or another, because we drive fast over here and I hate to lose parts when doing so.

They didn't disassemble it, I believe he pushed too hard when cleaning it. I already fixed the issue, thank you.
