Don’t know how all you guys did this in seven hours. I am a pretty experienced tinkerer and it took me closer to 20.

Mine probably took about 10 hours, but 2 of those were trying to get the intake tubing the way I wanted. I could probably do it in 7 if I had to do it again.

Do yourself, It's easy, if you aren't sure about something in the instructions there are plenty of videos on YouTube. I ended up going with a G2 because my plan was to stay in the 600-650hp range and stay on street tires (Continental EC02) as this my daily/canyon & twisties car. My car is an 18 manual, installed the blower at 75k mi, tuned by Wengerd, 6k mi with the blower no issues. SEND IT & enjoy.

Did you run into issues? I can’t imagine it taking that long. I think from driving the car into the garage to loading the tune took maybe 10 hours.

Actually yeah I did, now thinking back, there were several sticking points in the V1.5 ESS instructions. I documented them all and sent ESS a new V1.6 and believe they are using that for their instruction manual now, it was missing a few Mach 1-specific important points.

Gotcha. That makes more sense.

To be honest, I didn’t really use the instructions for most of it haha, but I had watched probably 20+ videos in preparation for the install so I had most of the big stuff down.

I wasn't alone and my buddy is a 30 year tech. He's done a bunch of superchargers over the years but not a S550. I watched a bunch of install videos(like every one that I could find) multiple times. We also pulled the car in the shop the night before to work on ambient parts.

Every couple of weeks one or two will pop up. Just have to be ready to pull the trigger.

Honestly the savings are that much. I was always waiting for a month or so then got fed up and just bought one new šŸ˜‚

Even more so if you’re in the north/ anywhere that has a ā€œdriving seasonā€

I'm sure I'll likely do the same thing but figure it'll allow me to get a few more $$ saved up to toss to wengerd to tune it.

How many of you guys self install vs having a shop do it? I’m interested in trying it myself when it comes in but I’ve never done any more maintenance than an oil change on a car. I found some cheap quotes from shops but I’m worried that if a shop installs I will be clueless on how to fix random issues that come with being boosted, how is the reliability there?
What's the most difficult mechanical job you've ever done? I would rank this install in the top 5 easiest things I've ever worked on or installed. That includes pulling off the manifold and changing the injectors.

I’m fairly new to this hobby still, literally the only mechanical things I’ve done myself to this car was an oil change, air filter change, and drilling in a splitter myself. Have literally no experience with much else
