A little of both. I loved the Mach and I ordered it just the way I wanted. At the time (2021 -2022 timeframe) things were looking pretty bleak for front engine RWD V8 cars. It wasn't clear how to me long these cars would be available, and I thought I needed some modern muscle before it was too late.

Fast forward to now, and I just wasn't driving the car much. I had big plans for the Mach - track days, trips to various places, etc. It never materialized. The Mach was comfy and exhilarating to drive. Then Jeep announced the Wrangler Moab 392 at an almost reasonable price and I bit! I was able to order one at $8K off MSRP so that clinched the deal. The Moab will be my daily driver. I sold to Mach, and I will be trading in my 23 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon toward the Moab. I have been Jeep guy since 1988. I still have my 88 Wrangler that I bought new. Another bonus is I free up space in my garage, which is desperately needed.

That said, I am still a Ford Performance kind of guy as I will concentrate on getting my Superformance Cobra back on the road.
Thanks for the reply. Best of luck to you with your Jeeps. With your Cobra you can still hang out here from time to time. My first job out of HS ( '77) I worked security at the AMC Building Headquarters in Southfield , Mi. The lobby always had brand new Pacers, Javelins and Jeeps on display. Cool times and cool cars.

Hey I am considering your old Mach 1. Anything I should know or any issues you had with it? Also wondering what you will have for sale?

Thanks

You would not make a mistake with this car. The only issues were 1) a leaky oil pan from day 1 that was replaced by the dealer. 2) The other issue was the front windshield had a spot where it was foggy. The spot was there from day 1 and I was reluctant to get the windshield changed. I finally had the dealer do it this past fall with factory glass. The work was done indoors and the car was stored inside until I picked it up. All under warranty.

The only existing issue is the belly pan has an approximately 3" crack at the driver side front brake duct. I drilled a small 1/16" inch hole at the end of the crack to mitigate further cracking and sealed the crack with black gaffers tape. The crack will not spread, and you would be hard pressed to find it.

Other than that, the car has been perfect. I had the dealer change the brake fluid at 3 years. I did all oil changes except the one that occurred when the oil pan was replaced. Oil changes were done annually with factory oil filter and the Motorcraft semi synthetic. Last year I switched oils to Pennzoil Ultra Platinum synthetic and had planned to keep it that way.

The car is bone stock and still has the carbon filter in the intake. The car does have Pilot Sport 4 tires and they are on the Ford Motorsport Handling Package wheels. I have the original Handling Package wheels and the with the Cup 2 tires still on them. The Gurney flap was never installed and is shown in the pictures in the trunk with the original packaging and hardware. Front bumper was never drilled for a front plate. The front plate hardware is also in the trunk.

I saw you said no rock chips, PPF or ceramic on car?

The Sport 4S tires have about 2100 miles on them. The Mach has always been in a climate-controlled garage as long as I have owned it.

No PPF or ceramic. Old school, just wax. The black trunk panel has never had a sponge or drying cloth run across it. I would foam/rinse and blow dry.

Not to sound like a cliche, but the car has zero chips because it has very low mileage and it was driven like the old man that I am :like:

You are correct about the center caps. The Ford Motorsport wheels came with push-in rubber stemmed valves on the TPMS. I ordered and had installed the proper bolt-in steel stem valves/TPMS on the wheels. I can find the part number if you are curious. They are shown in the Driveway.com site on the one close up pic of the rear wheel. Other than the center cap, which I liked, there is no difference.

IMO, I wouldn’t have any worries about anything. Everything was remedied by a Ford dealer. That said, it was also quite small issues, that originated from the factory, if referring to the oil pan and windshield. You got a great car.

im sorry i just cannot take any cracks or tape repair or dropping the subframe and reinstalling from dealers that know basically zero (as posted by him when the morons installed the belly pan backwards) or even having the windshield replaced. There is no way a human can do it better than factory. Or non factory wheels and center caps, plus the car comes with no paperwork or owners kit etc. plus he removed toggle switches to try and install a front camera, I’m sure he’s a nice guy and kept the car nice but I’ve returned brand new cars within weeks with small paint issues. It’s just not for me. I would be thinking of these things every time I drive it. It’s by the grace of god I stumbled upon this thread. It’s actually amazing. I was like could this possibly be! And the Carfax was spot on. Again he sounds like a great guy nothing against him it’s my ocd that could never feel comfortable. And I was paying $58,000

I completely understand, don’t worry, no need to be sorry. You can look at some of my previous threads and I’m sure some people around here can even tell you, I’m OCD in similar ways. Someone on this forum once said “know thyself” and I’ve taken that to heart with vehicles since then. Sounds like you know thyself. While I’m sure the repairs were done well and by the book, as well as the wheels are the same as the stock ones, and they are a center cap order away from looking the part too. I get why you feel that way, and wish you the best of luck in finding the car that speaks to you, these cars spec’d the way you want, are truly a needle in a haystack.

I was so excited about this spec. I asked chat about everything in this car and it was basically 1 of like 2 made. I will share the picture chat gave me. But I just can’t do it. It’s a shame really. I have an inspection of the vehicle tomorrow that I’m trying to cancel. It really is amazing how in found this thread. And it’s all because I found an original 2022 Mach 1 owners kit for real cheap and posted a thread to ask a question. Then I said to myself let me look at some threads. I’ve owned about 20 mustangs and I’ve been on here before. Again it’s by gods grace. I’m here at 3 am and I found it. I’ve ordered and owned a 21 reg Mach 1. My original order was with leather recaros but the vehicle came in with a small dent from unloading ( I think I have a post here on this) so my dealer knows I would never take it. It was a blessing in hindsight because in didn’t like the leather so I reordered with cloth. I returned the car within a month with 10 miles on it because after 20 new cars in 2 years I finally realized I just can’t pay for a car that I don’t drive. I really don’t drive my cars. I love just taking it around the block and cleaning it. If I could put out in my living room I would. Here is what chat gave me

I’m sure he’s a nice guy
BTW - I am a great guy. And almost no one is more OCD than me. I have no skin the game any longer, but I would love to see the car go to a great home. Have no worries, that car is perfect unless Driveway.com messed with it. I have the original birds nest wheels with the original Michelin Cup 2 tires mounted. As far as the Ford dealer replacing the oil pan, the only thing they messed up was the mounting of the lower splitter. I remedied that with factory parts. I have a lift and inspected everything quite extensively on numerous occasions after the oil pan was replaced. I performed all oil changes except when the oil pan was replaced. Windshield was replaced very late under warranty because I was reluctant to let anyone rip the old one out. They did a fantastic job at the dealership. Brake fluid was replaced by the dealer at 3 years per the manual. If you need to know more about the car, PM me.

One thing worries me is about lowering the chassis for the oil pan and the other thing that is a dealbreaker for me is replacing the windshield. Sorry it may be nice, but nothing can be better than a factory installation of a windshield. I know people who install windshields and they are horrible at doing it. But that’s a dealbreaker for me. I’m sure you’re the person that I would need to buy the car from but that was not in your hand so I cannot do it. It’s just me I’ve returned several cars for a paint defect or less I’m just crazy that way.

I’ll just say, windshields come from factory with installation defects. People have had issues with factory installs (primarily leaking issues) so to say nothing beats a factory install is absolutely false. Same goes for the subframe, they came misaligned from the factory on more than one occasion and had to be remedied either by a dealer or a shop or the car owner. It happens, factory installs aren’t perfect.

The prior owner of the car is here saying that’s it’s been well cared for and the repairs met his standards. There are definitely things to be concerned about when considering a car, the repairs done to this car aren’t it
