I will also be curious if any of the suspension carries over. The control arms from the s650 do so if these are better then maybe theres some stuff that can be positive productive for us 550 folks!

I was really hoping they kept a manual option.

I also liked it better with the all black front end, the body color bumper is less appealing.

Overall I think it kicks ass.

That would have a market of about 5 people. Not a moonshot collector car like the GTD, not a wider appeal like the DHSC. Not to mention the development cost of turning a lumbering beast like the Godzilla into an actual performance engine for a tiny run of cars.
Why did GM sell so many SS1LEs, why was there huge demand for the Z/28? Or the C6Z? There is a huge market for that car. Anecdotally, I've had a dozen people who are in the market for a car say they would absolutely buy something like that.

Now, the biggest issue is making a 7.3 all aluminum. I definitely agree there. Would it sell as much as the 5.0? No. But now we're in Boss territory, with bits already laying around for the most part. And the 7.3, as currently designed, shares a ton of similarities with the LS. So it's not unprecedented.

As a GT 500 owner Ford did not do enough for me to make the switch. Same engine, same supercharger, same transmission... The HP and Torque numbers can't be that far away from the 760 of the 500 and the damn sure are not going to let it be more than the GTD. Maybe the suspension is upgraded a bit but i have upgraded my suspension. Ford just did not move the needle for me. It is just a restyled GT 500 in the S650 body. Not a fan of the rear end at all.

CFTP's were a little over 100K fully optioned? For this, probably 20K more than that? I saw someone mention maybe 140k?? If it had a new motor and multimatic dssv dampers etc, I could maybe see that but a 40K bump for an upgraded GT500?

Also just saw on Ford Racing's IG that they are developing a new V8 for the hypercar coming in 2027. "The engine were developing for le mans, is truly special"

Hopefully this will eventually be the new motor in the mustang? Hopefully they are going after the Z06/ZR1 FPC.

It's a race only engine so they don't have to use the class engine which is a Gibson 4.2 V8 (600hp)

People will get used to the Dark Horse name especially when the performance outpaces the gt500.
just like everyone dropped their GT350 for the Dark Horse when it came out, oh wait …..

Notice the seats have no Dark Horse logo.

waiting to see if they will be direct swaps to the 20-22 GT500. I am sure other stuff might be as well.

People are doing 8’s in the stock DCT, why does it need tune? Serious question?
It's not even just a tune. It just seems like those guys are always fighting the trans. Whenever the high power guys go to the 1/4 mile it always seems like they're having it overheat and they have to stop for a bit, can't get it to launch like they want, misses shifts...rebuilding or replacing that thing is big $ too.

That said it's going to last longer than 10R80 when you making 800-900whp

Easy button of course is to swap to a TH400/6R80

It will outperform the gt500.
In what metrics? Same engine, same supercharger, same transmission. Maybe handling but not sure enough for anyone that doesn’t track the car to be able to tell. I mean They used the same spoiler and wickers as the GT 500...

It’s a 5.4L NA V8 with hybrid assist.
