@High Velocity congrats on the car. That new platform stage is great. Learning all the ins and out of a new ride. Good stuff. Traveling to buy and drive back and quick wave of mods is fun stuff for sure. That's fine and good, but the bad part is next. You will be hooked and won't be able to stop thinking about boost, fuel systems etc... :flag:

Thank you. Whenever I buy a new car, I like to get the paint corrected and protected with paint protection film in the front and ceramic coatings. Then I tint the windows and usually move to the suspension and brakes.

Along with making it look a little bit better with different exterior mods. I leave the go fast parts until last. That way I am building on a solid foundation if that makes sense.

I was originally planning on Intake, headers, cams and a tune. But after a lot of research I found out that I might as well spend a little more and get forced induction.

I have no idea what I will do but I know it's going to be pretty expensive lol. If I had to guess right now, I would lean towards getting a Procharger or ESS kit. Still working on my suspension stuff right now and waiting on my sway bars to come in.

I do all the work myself so it can be a slow process especially because I work full time. The only thing I did not do myself so far is the paint protection film on the bumper, hood, fenders and the ceramic window tint.

Oh I also did not paint the spoiler but I did install it.lol

I am still waiting on my Ford performance track sway bars to come in. They should be here in a few days. I had one of my detailing orders from Griot's Garage come in and my Roush H pipe also came in.
I have Griot’s stuff as well. I have not tried the engine cleaner, how well does that work?

As soon as I left the dealership I went and fueled up, got some snacks and something to drink and hit the road.
You flew nine hours and the dirty dealership didn't fill your tank? M@thuu& F@$%#s

They almost always fill with 87 anyway! LOL
I stand corrected! If they don't get you one way, they'll get you another.

To be fair, a gently driven GT can gulp 87 all day on the highway. Obviously not the best way to experience a nice new Stang.

When I bought my f150, sales guy says he will go gas it up. I told him I'll go as well. At gas station I said 93. He responded with "sure, ain't my money" and swiped the card. Atta boy.

It does well for me but I have never tested it on a filthy engine bay that has leaking oil everywhere. I have been detailing for 20 years now, I own just about every detailing tool you can think of.

I have spent thousands of dollars testing out just about every brand of products out there. Gyeon, Carpro, Koch chemie, Gtechnique, all the big names you see on YouTube. And I keep coming back to Griot's products.

Even the buffers from Griot's have a lifetime warranty and their customer service is incredible.

Yeah I couldn't believe it and when I got home to start the detailing process, I opened the hood and it was FILTHY. They knew I was flying out to buy the car, I would have thought they would have least offered to pick me up from the airport. But they didn't and I had to get a uber and pay for that too.

But the car was exactly what I wanted so I was not about to let them come between me and my dream car.

This was the state of the engine bay, they never cleaned it. It was a one owner car and it only had 10,000 miles on it when I bought it from the dealership. I paid them to send it to the local Ford dealership to have it checked out before I bought it too. Ford called me and said the car was perfect, they even sent me pictures of the underneath of the car on the lift.

This is a great post you started to help future buyers with lessons to learn and what to remember add to their checklist....

Everything is negotiable. When they won't lower the price anymore, or you're giving them their asking price, they can still detail the engine bay, and fill the tank (with a receipt showing premium fuel @Bob Lob Law ), plus a ride from the airport.

That's not asking a whole lot.

Regardless, nice ride and mods. It's cool to see people doing stuff and enjoy these awesome S550 Stangs. Enjoy in good health and drive as safe you can please. This one is velocity blue as well I think...

Glad to hear how good it from an experienced person.
I have using there stuff for years.
I do have the older buffers, and the Velcro is peeling off the base plate, i need to call them; just never got to it.

Call them, they have the best customer service. They will probably send you a brand new one for free. Keep in mind though some stuff they consider normal wear and consumables. A backing plate technically is a product that you should expect to replace every once in awhile.

I have multiple polishers too. But I have the Griot's G9,G8 and the cordless BOSS polisher. Only reason I didn't get the G15 from them is because I have a cordless Milwaukee 15mm polisher. And I bought the Adam's micro polisher that I use as my dedicated 1 inch polisher.

I have a mix of Griot's polishing pads and Rupes polishing pads. I prefer the Rupes pads.

Griot's is the way to go for polishers though, they have a lifetime warranty on them. And out of all the polishes and compounds I have ever used, I like Griot's the best for that too. And I have tried Rupes entire line, Sonax entire line, Meguiars entire line, Griot's entire line of polishes and compounds. A very close second is Sonax.
