A cracked 19" rim!

I've never heard of this. This past weekend I noticed that my right rear tire was losing about 12 PSI per day. I took it to a tire shop expecting a nail, since I recently had the roof on my house replaced. Turns out, there is about a 1" crack on the inside edge of the rim. These rims were the 19" upgrade when I ordered the car. I haven't hit any bad holes recently. I'll be getting a price on a replacement rim, but I wonder if I would be better off to replace all of them with something aftermarket. I drive this car a lot (81K miles in 40 months) and would hate to think it could happen again.

I have see it. Mostly on aftermarket wheels though. I've also heard of some issues with OEM Ford wheels cracking but mostly on trucks. My buddy's F350 dually had 3 cracked OEM wheels before he swapped them for another set.
Aluminum tends to crack instead of bending when stressed. Either hitting something or even when mounting/dis-mounting tires.

depending on the price of the replacement I would actually go for four aftermarket of your choice. They will be lighter and you can get a look that you might’ve been looking for already.

Try Discount tire or (American tire) same company, they got me an exact OEM Factory wheel years ago for my daily driver at a very good price .

I think we have a Discount Tire here. Dealer wants $2600.00 for a new replacement

depending on the price of the replacement I would actually go for four aftermarket of your choice. They will be lighter and you can get a look that you might’ve been looking for already.

I actually like the look of my current wheels. You can see them in my avatar.

if I go aftermarket, I’ll be tempted to go wider. We all know where that goes.

Not unheard of for OEM wheels to have issues. C7 Grand Sports are well known to have issues with the stock wheels

Detroit Wheel sells mostly reconditioned wheels. You don't know if they were simply curb-rashed or bent & cracked. They do sometimes carry good used wheels though.

Talk to Benny see what price he can do he just got me some parts everywhere else said was out of stock and he was a good amount cheaper

Some junk yards have aftermarket rims also at a good price. It just takes a few days to get delivered.
Google "powdercoate rims" you might have to include the city. If its possible to repair my local powder coat guy sandblast rims and welds them. They are a better choice than a local weld shop.
