Hey guys - Wanted to put a post up here as I put a ton of time into investigating this car pre-purchase, and have loved and cared for it so deeply post-purchase, that I wanted to memorialize this here for any future owners down the road. I have noticed folks doing this in the Porsche community, and I found it immensely helpful in my search for a 911 GT3 Touring (and saved me a few times, to be honest). So, "paying it forward" and doing the same here for a car where TLC really matters. Maybe a good idea down the road for a single thread dedicated to stuff like this, but for now, here goes!
2020 Shelby GT350R Heritage Edition Package, VIN #: 1FA6P8JZ7L5551850. ~2500 miles at time of sale, owned for two years, purchased with ~1300 miles from JLD Auto in Florida, and the car was traded into European Exotic Center in Tampa this last week. At time of my purchase two years ago, the car had BMR jacking rails, Ford Performance Catch Cans (both sides), the little mud flaps to block rocks, and front/rear PPF (all the thoughtful enthusiast things you wanted to see). Only mods I added were the Archetype Racing BiIRDS rear diffuser supports, little black vinyl stickers over the sun visor warning labels, a hard-wired CTEK charger port, and black covers over the coolant tank / strut tower tops in the engine bay...never heavily modded at any point in her life. This car has NEVER been tracked, was meticulously maintained by me and both prior owners, and is an absolute cherry. First owner was an enthusiast, and I spoke with him directly to confirm proper break-in sub-1K miles (he was more meticulous than me, keeping the car in one of those "car bubble" things). He confirmed that the car did not have the timing chain tensioner issue that some of these 2020's had and was not part of that recall - I bought the little mirror and confirmed that was accurate as well. He also had a custom plaque and vest made matched to the vin. Second owner was a Mustang collector in TX who barely drove the car, but kept her in climate controlled storage for just over a year. The car was sold by me with all the OEM goodies, so it's a complete package. Never an issue, all services/oil changes on time, and never burned a drop of oil in my ownership so she was definitely properly broken in. Car has never been driven in rain, and was kept in a climate-controlled garage during the winters while in my possession. Zero body work, all original paint, and carbon fiber wheels were mint at time of sale...legit zero issues to call out whatsoever.
If anyone is looking down the road, while I can't comment on what happens from here, this has to be one of the cleanest, most loved GT350Rs on the planet for her first 2500 miles of life. What an incredible driving experience, one of the more unique cars I'll likely ever own and one of those "once in a generation" type vehicles for Ford. Only selling as I want to consolidate my collection and spend more time with a smaller number of toys, and I thought the GT3 will be the perfect marriage between my V10 R8 and 350R, so two is turning into one.
I have some leftover parts/goodies that I was accumulating for the car as I planned on keeping her forever (OEM steering wheel, OEM chin spoiler, OEM shift knobs, mint GT350 rear seat, etc.) that I will post for sale here this December once I have more free time around the holidays. If anyone has any questions on this car down the road, I'll keep a loose eye here...but for now, the only Ford left in my life is my Ranger Raptor, and she's a beast! Thank you all for the advice along the way, been a pleasure (mostly haha) and good luck to you all with your absolutely amazing driving machines!
