so, who does the installation when you buy from Tire Rack?
You should go to Tire Rack and start an order, part of the process is they will give you quotes from local installers as part of the buying process. You also can just bring them to an installer of your choice and have them mount/balance them for you, I've done both in recent years.

LOL the DWS06+ is a great all season tire but it does not outperform the PS4S with grip particularly in the summer (PS4S is a summer only, so it will get slick in cooler weather, so if it’s 50 degrees, yeah the DWS will grip better). You really like the DWS06+, which is great, but don’t lie about it outperforming a high quality summer only tire in dry grip. Their wet grip is actually quite good too, as is the Conti ECS. Michelin PS4S and Conti ECS02 will outperform the DWS06+ in grip in the summer, it’s what they’re manufactured to do.
Eh, debatable honestly. My own experience on road courses has conti shit on ps4s as do many other people's experiences. I know this forum dick rides Michelin HARD though so I don't expect you to admit it's not as good. It is what it is, I'm sharing the truth IDC if you agree or not lol.

Just avoid the dealership lmfao. They quote ya 100$ 25/ per but you walk out closer to 100/per 400$ total for a simple mount and balance. Stealerships fr

Falken FK510 and the FK460 AS are both great options within their segments. Very affordable, quiet, solid traction for the street. Personally ran the FK510 for a few years on my S197 and there wasn't a single thing I could complain about. When I sold the car, the tires had around 8k miles on them and were maybe worn down to 3/4 tread remaining. Wouldn't hesistate to run either setup, if I needed a summer street or all-season tire.

His DWS06+ with 60k miles of wear on them are better than the Michlen Pilot Spork 4$ he bought off of OngoBongoWheelz.com

I just put a set of Vredestein Quatrac Pro+ tires from Tirerack.com on and they are the smoothest, quietest tires I've ever had.

If you only drive this thing to church like a retiree I'd get some cheap tires.

If you at all appreciate what the car can do, I'd get the Michelin's or Continental's.

The price delta on "good" cheap tires isn't enough to make up the difference imo. And none of the tires you should be putting on this car are THAT cheap. If you're talking about a difference of a few hundred dollars or less, definitely go for a good set of Continental's.

They're also brand new

Anything is a big improvement over bald, old stock tires

I also favor the General Gmax-RS tires they are made by Continental and are fairly priced for the budget minded.

You can either have it scheduled for installation thru tire rack or have the tires delivered and then take them to any shop to install.
is it a y better than just going to Discount Tire or a place like Costco?

There was another thread here awhile back about people putting the Falkin 510 on their cars and being surprised at how good they were. Some stating they were just barely behind the Contis. I was looking at them because I am about to need new tires as mine are just getting very old 6 years (not worn out car lives in garage but hardly driven) and looked at the 510s but they have gone up in price it seems like. But maybe on a promotion sale they are worth a look.
I would buy them at premium price simply for the smooth and quiet ride thanks to nylon belting, work well on slush and light snow / cold pavement and good grip.....they have a perfect balance for my use. That said just sold Mustang and got NOS 2023 loaded Velocity Blue 2.7 Bronco 4 door soft top and found take off Michelin LTX Trail that are perfect.

Lots of research and listening. Have a good friend who was a Discount Tire manager for years helped me decide. Getting a set of these put on tomorrow. Price wasn’t horrible.
