Ok, so in relation to the post I made regarding my car getting hit today, I’m assuming it will be repairable. I’m going to need a new front bumper most likely (there’s a crack in it in addition to it being a bit loose). Should I just go with the OEM 18+ bumper or should I use the opportunity to do something different? I love the Mach bumper and there is an aftermarket bumper available that fits the 18+ GT’s. I also don’t want to make my car something it’s not. Any opinions one way or the other?

I missed your post on being hit. Sorry to hear and hope no one was hurt.

I'd go back to the same bumper. Mostly for simplicity sake. If you were to change it may require other parts, brackets, etc. Also, if there's an insurance company involved they may have a problem with not restoring it to original.

Thanks, nobody was hurt thankfully (I stuck it on the What did you do to your S550 thread). Insurance company will be involved (not mine) so you’re probably right that would want it returned to original. I do have the Bullitt lower grille on my car currently and it doesn’t appear to be damaged so I would have the shop transfer it to the new bumper.

The Mach 1 would be the best option IMO, won't have them horrible fitment issues quite a few of the GT500 options have.
I personally went with the GT500 bumper and kinda got bored of it quickly. People love it tho, especially with the grille lights.

Similar experience on my end... I foolishly rolled into a high curb and damaged my front end... quickly looked at it as an excuse to go aftermarket.

Went with the I5 autohaus gt500 - pre painted. Put it on myself. They actually did a phenomenal job with painting it.

It became apparent that I should have had it done professionally - had some small fitment issues that I'm sure were invisible to most people, but glaring to me. Plus, the grills were kinda boring and basic.

Started seeing Mach 1s and got REALLY jealous of that look. Eventually decided to go with 777 Performance's Mach 1 front end. 1k for the bumper, another 1k to have a body shop paint and install it for me.

Absolutely love it. Added some bemaro decals over the openings for some color... I love the grills with the wider openings and the honeycomb shapes... I know I have a winning part when I never see anything that makes me second guess it.

That looks fantastic! Really like the Bemaro decals, that’s a nice little detail. I’m going to talk to my body shop guy next week and get his thoughts. It’s the other person’s insurance paying for my repairs so I want to make sure I don’t mess that up.

I love the GT500 look, it’s my favorite S550, but I feel like the bumper on a non-GT500 looks a little off. Same with the GT500-style hood, it needs the rest of the GT500 body to look right to me. That’s just me though.

$5K sounds insanely expensive...

The 777 Performance front bumper is still available. the Body shop guy said he was impressed with the quality and fitment of the part. "Usually these aftermarket parts are garbage"

I forgot that I did buy the handling pack front lip for another $200, but 777 now includes it and they charge $1100 rather than $1000. Its a must IMO.

I was quoted at 1200 to paint and mount it, and they ended up charging me 1000 as an apology cuz they had my car for almost a month, and it shouldnt have taken that long.

Im trying to figure out how 5K is possible. Now, If you got on Levittown Ford parts and order the actual, Ford manufactured Mach 1 Front bumper, it adds up...
$735 for the bumper,
$946 for the upper grill (WHAT!?)
$316 for the Lower grill
$414 for the standard splitter
and $506 for the lower handling pack splitter

Altogether thats $2900. Add in a bodyshop that maybe took advantage of the guy and you could get to 5K

This is the one I’m looking at. It’s made to fit the GT’s and Eco’s. Maybe the OEM Mach bumper has a few fitment issues on a GT or Eco?

https://www.steeda.com/10-1018-106-mustang-mach-1-style-front-fascia
That looks like it might be OK.
Steeda has never let me down.
I wouldnt be surprised to find out that 777, Steeda, and others get the same part from one or two suppliers, but its just a speculation. They probably all come from China

I read a long time ago that you always go polypropylene, NEVER fiberglass... So that bumper checks out there.

See if you can find anyone else with that Steeda bumper

Sorry to hear about the bingle mate. IMHO definitely go M1 it looks epic, it's the best bang for buck / least hassle and just looks right on the GT.
