But doesn't something like the Whipple basically have two intercoolers that size?
Probably. Surface area of Roush brick is only ~45 square inches, but it looks quite a bit thicker than the Whipple bricks. The Roush is ~4.25 thick.

I believe you are thinking about the VMP Odin Kit. It appears to have 2 of the exact same intercoolers as the Roush 2650 for 3rd Gen Coyote.

Obviously, the designs are completely different with the Odin Intercoolers on the sides, which, is a superior design overall.

Yea, that one looks the most like 'two intercoolers', they are both inverted and the whipple just has one big one going across the whole lid

"one big one" would've been nice (like the unit for Gen2 Coyotes), reality is it's one small one.

I think we have direct injection to blame. Adding 3/16" thermal blanket to the underside of the IM gets pretty close to the DI system.

Also.. for those who don't daily their car:
I recommend picking up a cheap borescope camera to periodically check under the intake manifold. I hosed down the new knock sensor harness in peppermint before adding 3/8" aluminum heat shield. Hopefully a slight deterrent for the next little bastard.

Roush has install instructions posted. The 2650 kit's Download Instruction Manual has enough detail to replace the SC belt on a gen3 coyote.

I would expect the same detail in the gen2 coyote instructions:

CJ Pony has install videos for gen 2 & 3: https://www.youtube.com/@cjponyparts/search?query=Roush supercharger

After having owned a 2011 gt500 with that baby heat exchanger and inefficient m122 blower, which has more heat soak? That or gen 3 Roush?

Some more IAT2 numbers just for documentation purposes here on this great thread.

This first pic is with the drag valve off:

This second pic is with drag valve on in similar weather conditions:

I’ve yet to see this car pull any timing whatsoever.

For quick reference my car is Roush P2, 2.8 pulley, LTH, Fore Innovations E85 and FI Interchiller Stage 2 kit with lots of other goodies.

Cheers!

Interesting, I'm getting 80f IAT2 in 91f IAT1. I haven't touched the solenoid yet but even with the cabin ac on I'm always below ambient.

Has anybody here ported their blower with Kong? I have only seen 2 that have used Jokerz. I would also be interested in dyno data as well to see the gains for this supercharger - ported vs OEM. I haven't been able to find this anywhere regardless of the shop doing the porting. Jokerz posted something on FB years ago about their port service picking up 48whp & 32wtq....with no retune on the Phase 1 Roush kit...

For ~$1500 that seems like a better HP/$ than most if not all other mods - especially those that don't have access to E85 and don't want to go catless...

Why aren't more people doing this? Porting seems super popular on the LT4 platform and that blower seems to have some similar issues with efficiency, cooling, etc.

Also, almost forgot to mention, you get more whine from the blower when it's ported...
