First I used an elm e27 that did the same thing to so I bought a obdlink ex and no changes at all. It says unable to read apim etc. When I go to module it says it reads it then it says it can idk

What version of Forscan are you using? I know in some previous FS threads in this site, sometimes if the software version is older you may need to update. Then there is the reverse of if the software version is newer something may have been changed that is now “broke” and you would have to revert to a prior version.

Definitely check too and make sure your ELM has the most recent firmware update (if applicable). Some hardware devices get sporadic firmware updates from the manufacturer. If you’re on an older firmware version, but a new software version of “X”, there’s compatibility/functional issues.

Where do you buy the digital cluster from? Was it guaranteed to be a working unit and not damaged/faulty?

Okay I have a different scanner that looks like it will let me modify as built data but I need the whole line it starts as all zeros. And I have to modify the 8 or 12 0s to match what I want. And also it tells me I can change mileage but when I try it says I can't. And for forscan I first tried on older update realized mistake updated and then it still won't work. I downloaded the drivers for the obdlink ex but still won't work. Thinking of using the other scanner but I don't have my old cluster it actually broke so I will have to get the data from the website with my vin do u know the website?

You can only change you're mileage to a higher number. You can't lower it. Also want year car so you have? I have a 2017 gt and I swapped an 18 gauge cluster (analog with mycolor) in and programmed with forscan to show me the gauges and features I wanted.

Okay I had to cleae my old saved data and i guess that worked idk. It let me find the right modules I needed and let me change the mileage and everything. But I do have a few issues. Main thing is my RPMs don't work! No drivemode selection! and no cruise control! Any ideas?

Oh snap really. That's good that someone else ran into it and could fix it. I looked around on the forums and couldn't seem to find anything on it

Feel free to pm me if you still have issues. But I suggest checking this thread out, I can't find the threads I was using which had a list/images of the forscan lines with what each number change would do. I believe I found options online for exactly which digit to change and then tried changing it from 0-10 in the asbuilt but if you don't know exactly what to change I highly suggest you don't touch the asbuilt because it's an extremely easy way to fuck stuff up. And when you do mess with it always take a photo of it before you ever change anything, you should also be able to save the OEM car profile somewhere so you can revert back every change if something goes majorly wrong, if you can't find the fix then when I get time I can open up forscan and see what my lines are and you can compare them to your lines and change the asbuilt and see if it helps.

Actually a post sparked my memory a little bit, I don't know the exact line I changed. But all relevant codes I swapped back and forth new cluster and older cluster and I took pictures of my old clusters codes for every single module, put the new cluster in 18+ style, and the. Manually changed my asbuilt to match the old clusters codes (there's a way to copy and then flash the old to the new but I didn't manually). Once I did it fixed everything but the is something that needs to be changed for the high beams (when you pull them stick in to flash them they will blink then shut off event if you keep holding it. Normally you can pull it in and hold it and the high beams stay on until you let go but there's a line to change to fix that. You can also then go through the non asbuilt (the menus that are basically dummy proof) and choose what gauges you want. You can add or remove a ton of extra information and temp gauges from the gauges menu screen. You also unlock new drive modes and for mine i also got launch control. Again, pm me with any questions and I can pull up my data if needed

Bro what the heck that's awesome thanks alot. Unfortunately old cluster is broke which is why I got the digital cluster tbh. So I can't go back n check it but that is good to know, you were able to get even extra drive modes? Mine won't pop up but I'll figure it out been working 11 hour days all week so no time for my baby but when I get time I will update you. Appreciate all your help!!

Yes, I gained drag mode and I think 1 other mode. I did lose advanc trac sportmode though. Tbh my 93 tune is fine so I rarely if ever change the driving mode anymore. I did do the sync 3 upgrade as well so I got used to not having modes. Also if you still have the old cluster you should be able to plug it in and pull the forscan data. It doesent needed to work or anything for the info to still be there.

Had the same problem..

This is the code

From the notes I had on that tab, it looks like this line is for RPM:

720-07-0200000030CRITICAL FOR RPM

We really should just make a thread for common upgrades. And make sure info is correct. Theirs the sync 3 thread but most of the forscan info is flat out wrong and bad info. We need to make one for common stuff like cluster, sync 3 etc.
