I am not shocked at the lack of manual options in new sports cars as population ages and young people don't care but I do admit not offering a gt500 in manual always perplexed me. alas somebody did the math and it probably makes sense but still would love to see that data. (my dealership told me 1 out of 10 gt's are ordered manual and always are last to sell)

It's why I put a blower on the Mach instead of buying a GT500...

The thing is that undeniably the automatics are faster in any way, so the GT500 with a DC Auto makes much more sense. Adding to the consideration how much power you get for a relatively half the price of a hypercar, makes it more accessible for a broader range of people, who to be honest, are much less able to think, let alone perform asynchronous movements with all their four limbs... Good thing is you can still throw a blower on the Mach 1, the DH or the GT350 and get either stick shift or 10Auto... Of course, it won't make it a GT500, but may get there with minimal investment

It's not just about "faster." Driving with a manual is different than driving with an automatic. Some want one or the other. Some need one or the other.

I daily drove a 2017 GT350. Now, I daily drive a Mach 1. They both got/get attention, but from different people and for different reasons. The GT350 got attention because it was a Shelby. The Mach 1 gets attention because it's green.

True! Last time I drove a manual with NA engine was back in 2013-14. I changed that for a diesel automatic, which drove me nuts because of two things - turbo lag and automatic lazyness. I replaced it in 2018 with a NA gasoline automatic. Much more responsive, but still the auto was annoing. None of these had paddle shifters, so... Meh... The moment I sat in the Mach 1 in 21 and touched the shifter I got lovesick until I bought the damn thing! I test drove DH A10 and DH manual, Mach 1 auto, the Bullit manual, but nothing touches the pleasure of torturing the mach 1! The DH does, but I hate the TVs inside

The debate is so challenging where now the market is filled with people who grew up in an era where an automatic sports car was unanimously known as the inferior car/driving experience and now we have the current generation who have access to superior cars and didn't grow up with the option to try a manual. Doesn't help that the manual is dying with every generation of car produced. I for example never experienced "three on the tree" that my grandfather so described and enjoyed. So even I'm guilty of going "yeah I don't know about that...."

I gave up when at my job some college kids asked me about the Mach and went "oh it's a manual...."

I've used 3 on the tree as well as 4, 5, or 6 on the floor. Really liked the 4 on the floor. I've also had 2, 3, 4 and 6 speed autos. They're both fun and useful, but I prefer the automatic that I don't have, and I'm not crying about that.

Hey 1969, did you get to see much of the race?

This is why I HATE taking my car to a dealer. Buncha shaved apes................ My 2020 Bullitt has been flawless so far. There are several recalls related to the backup camera and brake fluid, but both systems work fine, I am not letting these maroons touch my car unless absolutely necessary,
100% why I’m not purchasing his car. Nothing against him but any repairs from a dealer from glass to mechanical is an abortion
